Prologue
"You may now kiss the bride."
The whole dome of the church was filled with cheers and applause. Along the way, the long red carpet is lying down with candles lighting the red thing. The choice of roses at the very end of the chairs was so elegant and they look very happy. Even the roses seems to be happy and vibrant.
I look at him at the eyes, trying to guess what he's feeling, is he happy?
Is he contented?
I saw him smiled, and then, he lifted the veil. After that, while grinning from ear to ear, he kissed...her.
I, who was sitting at the last row of the chairs inside this church, was standing. If that smile is the price of my heartache, then I'm glad I paid it. I think that's the most purest love that I can give him. And that's to let him go.
The moment their lips touched, I knew I already let go of the person whom I thought I will be spending the rest of my life with. But I was wrong, he's not my person.
When the kiss was over, I was surprised when our eyes met. With my teary eyes, I smiled at him.
Hindi ko balak na magpakita sa kanya, pero dahil nakita na rin niya ko, might as well show him I'm happy for him. Ayokong dalhin niya hanggang married life niya ang konsensya ng pakikipagbreak sakin. Not because I carried his child for 16 weeks, he is required to marry me. We lost our child, and now I am lost him.
I turned around and left the area. While I was passing the big doors of the church, I bumped into someone.
Because of the sudden bump, napaupo ako sa sahig.
"Watch where you're heading." Napatingin ako sa nakabunggo sakin. My mouth went dropped nung makita ko kung sino ito.
Kahit pa kabigla-bigla sakin ang makita siya, I stood up, held myself high.
"Excuse me? Ikaw na nga 'tong nakabangga, ako pa talaga sasabihan mo niyan? You could have said sorry." I mumbled.
I saw him smirked. Well, if I was the girl back then during my college years, I could have drool in front of him-wait, did I really say that?!
"Should I say it now?" he asked, obviously teasing me. Wow, just wow. Hanggang ngayon, dakilang bully pa rin siya!
Well, I won't give him the satisfaction.
Sasagot na sana ako sa kanya nung magvibrate ang phone ko. Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin bago sinagot ang tawag ko.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Doc! May emergency surgery! Wala po ang head surgeon kaya ikaw pinapatawag! Kayo raw po ang on-call."
"Anong case?"
"Gunshot wound po, doc. Right upper quadrant po." Napangiwi naman ako. Madugong operasyon 'to.
"Alright. I'm on my way. Prepare my field right away."
