"As for the ER Department, there's an increase in the number of cases for General Surgery and Neurosurgery. Cardiosurgery stays the same for the last 6 months. Highest earning department goes to General Surgery until now."
From this very long table, nasa pang apat sa kanan niya si Archer since he is the Chief of Surgery for ER Department. Next to Archer was the head of Orthosurgery, Dr. Mulach.
After the meeting, winelcome din naman nila ako pabalik on board.
Even if I am talking with them, nakikita ko ang titig sa akin ni Archer mula sa tabi.
I still have six pending Neuro consults.
I smiled at the relative inside. I saw a guy, maybe on his 40's.
I nodded at my resident signalling her to start presenting the case.
"A thirty nine years old, male, who came in with chief complaint of persistence of headache for the last couple of months. Rates 8/10 most of the time. Positive dizziness and disorientation noted by his wife." I nodded and smiled.
"Positive light headedness.
She drives me crazy. Both literally and figuratively."
Nagtawanan ang mga tao sa loob. The husband kisses his wife's hands. Napangiti ako sa gesture.
I did some tests. Checked his reflexes and pupils. I nodded.
"Get his blood works done and full head to toe assessment. I will have my rounds again tomorrow."
Nilingon ko ulit ang pasyente. He was smiling at me. Ganun din ang asawa. This is one of the most rewarding things as a doctor, you get to give hope to them.
"I'll give you some pain medications for your headache."
Tinapos ko ang rounds ko. Tomorrow, I have 2 scheduled operations. Dalawang spinal decompression.
I still have lots of work to do for tomorrow.
Kinabukasan maaga akong pumasok. I was about to go to my office when I bumped into Archer. I did my best not to look at him. Ramdam ko naman ang titig niya. Bahala siya.
