Kabanata 1
Even though I don't care about him, medyo nakakagulat na nandito siya sa Pilipinas. The last time I know, pumunta siya ng England nung grumaduate kami ng highschool. Sobrang pinagdasal ko na wag ko siyang maging kaklase or ka-university man lang dahil siya ang ultimate number one na nambubully sakin. I was crying in joy when I heard he left.
I hop in my car and made my way to the hospital.
I rushed in to the room and immediately changed my clothes into scrub suits. After all of those, I only brought my phone with me.
Probably because it's toxic today.
I entered the OR suite and saw the patient lying at the OR table.
"Dr. Sandro." I greeted the anaesthesiologist who's so focused giving anaesthesia. While holding the mask, he chuckled.
Bwisit talaga 'tong lalaking to.
"Oh shut up. Pwede na bang magstart?" I asked. I scanned through it. The interns had already wrote some info.
"Give me some more minutes." He said, laughing.
I nodded at him, acknowledging his presence.
"Anong history?"
"He's a 35 year old male who came in with a gunshot wound at his right upper quadrant. He came in with his sister who's our informant. According to her, bigla na lang daw pong bumulagta yung Kuya niya habang pauwi sila."
After I took the history, I began the operation. The scrub nurse had the surrounding skin cleaned. I concluded that the liver wasn't damaged since the bleeding stopped. Since it is a very vascular organ, this patient will bleed to death if ever liver man ang tinamaan.
"Scalpel."
The scrub nurse gave me the instrument and I started cutting his abdomen.
Nung makita kong hanggang doon ang lacerations, I bit my lip.
"The bleeding is not that high because it's not the liver who's being shot. It's the diagphram. The muscle's being lacerated that's why he's having bradypnea."
"Ma'am, may Vicryl diyan?" I asked after cleaning the area.
"So far, so good.Bakit?"
Nahirapan akong silipin ang adjacent organs and tissues. Napakunot ako ng noo.
"Are you sure he's fine?"
Tumango siya sakin, "Oo, okay na."
"Alright, suture this up. Malinis ha! Ichecheck ko yan." Utas ko sa resident.
