Daniel

The rest of my senior year went fast as soon as I got out of the hospital. Every examination to take were all successfully passed and now we're just waiting for our entry to college. Jake and I will be living together by then, with our parents' permission of course, and we'll be going to different universities with our own goals at hand. What's left of our bad memories were all now either gone or forgotten in time.

I recently heard a news from Kean that Liam will be running for the next president of the student clubs and that he'll be running as his secretary. Both Jake and i congratulated him as they were part of the photography club that took pictures during our graduation. Paul, well he did stay here as what happened to my dream, except that he revealed to us that his boyfriend is actually Mark, that's the same mark that bullied Kean months and ages ago. We never expected that to come out. A secret well guarded, I suppose.

When that news broke out of the whole school, he was never bullied. In fact he was instantly welcomed to the LGBT club. Paul was so happy to see that Mark came out of his shell and for once he can be true to himself as what my best friend said to me. I'm pretty confident that they will be happy together.

Both of us on the other hand, well, we're not yet sure but perhaps our plans are already set and waiting to be worked out. Just waiting for the perfect timing and soon it will be ours.

"Danny, I have to show you something that I've kept for a while." Jake took me outside the balcony. The sight from our room was not the spectacular and elegant, with all the busy streets and cars but in a sensible way, it's understated. "Remember that time when we were in that cafe at the beginning of our senior year, I gave you that promise ring?"

"Yes, I kept it really close to me. I never took it out of my chest since that day. Why what's wrong?" showing him the ring that I made into a pendant for the mean time.

"It's now time for me to change that into something more special." He knelt down in front of me, taking a small red box out of his pocket and opened it. "Daniel Summers, I know we're still young and naive and that I should't be doing this yet but I want to be with you forever. I want to spend the rest of my life with no one except you by my side. There's nothing I could wish for than to live with you and stay with you. So, Daniel, will you marry me?"

He puts the ring into my finger and kissed it. "Jake... I... Yes! Yes I will!"

And here we are, in the balcony of our room, standing in front of each other, eyes staring and lips sealed by the other. That kiss, the magical feeling, it's all the worth of testing it. The trials we fought, now we'll be facing more challenges. It's the beginning of a new life. When I'm with you, eternity is a step away. That is my promise of love to Jake, and his to me.
