Uncles hard decision

I walked next to my brother with him a confident stride and our uncles walked in front of us. We were now entering the village we had to deliver the scroll to and we had to appear strong because the leafs reputation was on our shoulders. We walked in and began our way to the head of the village. As we walked through the village we got wired looks from everyone.

We made it to the leader of the village and he was and old wrinkly man. I handed him the scroll and he opened. He pulled out a pice of paper from the scroll and then closed the scroll. After he read the paper he handed it to me and I read it.

Your request for one of your ninja to come to the leaf has been accepted. Send them with the team that delivered this scroll. Please know that once this ninja enters out walls they will permanently be a leaf ninja.

"Who is the ninja that you wish to send to the leaf?" I asked handing back the paper.

He signalled one of the ninja to go and get someone and about a minute later a young girl around my age walked in. I felt my brother stiffen next to me and I looked at him to see a blush rising on his cheeks. A smiled came to my face. I walked up to the girl and outstretched my hand to shake her hand.

"My name is Hitomi it's nice to meet you." I said shaking her hand.

"My name is Hisako it's nice to meet you as well." She said with a small smile.

I looked at her carefully and she had extremely long orange hair that was in a high ponytail and she had beautiful orange eyes. (Pic above)

"We'll have to be leaving soon because we need to get back to the leaf." I said.

The old man nodded. My family, Hisako and myself left the village and began our journey back but we had to set up camp after about an hour of walking because it was getting dark.

After we set up camp I wandered my to a lake. I sat down at the edge of it and stared into the water. As I was sitting there I heard someone sit next to me. I looked next to me to see Ichiro looking intently at me.

"You're uncle and I have to make a tough decision." He said looking in the distance.

"And what decision is that?" I asked looking at him.

"Who the next head of the clan will be." He said.

"Who do you think you'll chose?"

"I'm not sure and I can think of many reasons both you and Mamoru should be the head. That's why the decision is so hard." He said.

"I think you should chose Mamoru." I said.

He looked at me with curious eyes and I looked into the water at my reflection and a small sigh escaped my mouth.

"I don't think I'll be a good head of the clan also Mamoru is the oldest and despite not seeming it he's very responsible. Also I don't think I'll live long enough to be the head of the clan and even if I do I would hope that my relationship with Choji only grows stronger and if we ever get married that'll make me the wife of the head of the akimichi clan which has its own responsibilities." I said.

He looked at me and smiled.

"I see what you're saying. You always put others before yourself you thinking about te future of the clans and not just yourself. However I'm still not sure who'll we pick. I have to talk to Takeo more about it." He said.

I smiled. He got up and walked away. A sad smile came to my face and I sigh escaped my mouth. Did he really think I was able to be the head of the clan?

"Of course he does. Hitomi you have an amazing reputation as a reliable strong person." Rico said to me.

Me having a good reputation never thought that would happen.
