One with spirits

Spirits

I looked down at myself to see I was in a drees with a brown top that went to my neck a revealed my arms and shoulder. The skirt was green and went diagonally across my legs and looked like leaves. I had long dark green and purple pants on and boots that went jut under my knees. I also wore short gloves. I looked at Rico confused and he just smiled.

"When a human enters the spirit realm their clothing changes." Rico explained.

I smiled at him and stroked his fur. I was in the spirit realm and it was beautiful. Rico then crouched down and gestured for me to get on his back so I did. He began running and I smiled as the wind that ruffled my hair that was out of it's ponytail.

Rico stopped when when enter a filed. He once again crouched down and I got off him and sat down and Rico wrapped around me. I leaned on him.

"Rico it's so beautiful and peaceful here." I said happily.

"You could stay here forever if you wanted." Rico offered.

"As amazing as it is here I have people I care for and I don't want to leave them." I said.

"You have such a pure heart." Rico said.

I laughed slightly and closed my eyes listening to all the sounds of nature. I ran my fingers through Rico's fur but my hand clenched fearing what was to come. I felt Rico nudged my hand and I opened my eyes and smiled at him.

"I promise Hitomi I'll protect you." Rico said.

"I can protect myself but thank you." I said relaxing. "Rico do you ever wish you didn't save me so you could be free?" I asked.

"Never I have not and never will I. I don't regret saving you I'm glade I did. It's probably the best thing I've done." Rico answered.

I smiled. I looked around when I saw multiple creatures. They all surrounded me and some were on me. I smiled at them all. They all whispered things into my ears making me smile. One of them went to bite me but slowly back away when Rico growled at him. I looked at Rico confused the other spirits seemed to listen to him.

As I was watching the spirits and sharp pain ran through my back. I quietly groaned in pain. All the spirits looked at me and Rico put his head under my arm so I could rest it.

"The fuck?" I mumbled.

"Some pain my come to you after all you physical body is undergoing surgery sadly bringing you non physical form here won't stop all the pain." Rico explained.

I nodded and took a deep breath and the pain soon faded. I rolled my shoulders and gave a sigh. I leaned back into Rico but my attention was drawn to a bush when I heard rustling and all the spirits looked to the bush and they seemed to grow fearful but I just looked at the bush waiting for whatever was there to come out.
