One with spirits

on call

I sat in a tree as I felt Shikamaru Ino and Choji's chakra leaving the village. I knew full well they were going to go fight the Akatsuki to avenge Asuma. however, I decided not to get involved unless needed. I jumped through the trees to the front gate and watch as the Hokage stopped them. after a debate, they left with Kakashi as the team leader. 

"Hitomi you're on call I might need you to go after them at any point." the Hokage spoke.

"yes lady Hokage." I spoke. 

I watched as she sighed in frustration. I looked to where they walked and worry came to my face. they better be careful because the two they're going up against are strong. suddenly I felt a gush of wind blow past me and in the direction the team went. for some reason it calmed me. then I saw a winged deer riding the wind. 

"seems the spirits can sense your worry and have decided to keep an eye on the team while you can't." Rico said. 

a small smile came to my face. it put me slightly to ease knowing someone was watching over them. I jumped out of the tree and headed back home. when I made it I saw Takeo sitting at the table holding a box looking conflicted. I snuck up behind him and saw an engagement ring making me smile.

"so you want to take it to the next level huh." I said.

he quickly turned around and hid the box and gave a nervous laugh. I simply smiled and sat down at the table with him. 

"I don't know if I should ask her now. with all that has happened would it be a bad time." he mumbled. 

"do what you feel is right. Trust me that woman loves you. if you think you're ready and she's ready to, go for it. follow your heart." I said smiling. 

he smiled and looked at the ring. I smiled thinking about how Hikaru is pregnant. Takeo noticed me smiling and looked at me confused. and a small laugh escaped my mouth. I stood up again and walked up behind him.

"hurry it up I want cousins." I said.

I ran away before Takeo could hit me. I ran into my room and sat on my bed and looked out the window looking up at the sky. my eyes began to feel heavy and I laid in bed. I looked at the ceiling and a sigh escaped my mouth. I just have to keep positive that's what Ichiro would want I just had to stay positive. however, tears spilt from my eyes as I curled into myself.

 I heard footsteps and Mamuro walked into my room. I couldn't bring myself to look at him but he didn't make me. he crawled into bed with me and pulled me into his arms.

"It's okay little sister your big brother is here." He spoke gently. 

I snuggled into him and cried as I began to fall asleep. I felt safe in my brother's warmth and I fell asleep.
