One with spirits

Destroyed village

the sound of fighting drew my attention and I opened my eyes to see where our village previously stood to see a crater. There stood Naruto facing off with Pein. I Felt my head resting on someone and I looked up to see a crying Choji. smiled and raised my hand up to wipe away his tears.

He looked down at me and hugged me tightly. I began coughing and he let go of me and began freaking. I lightly chuckled before coughing up again.

"you had me worried Hitomi." He said.

"sorry. anyways whats' happening?" I asked.

Shikamaru who was there began explaining. so Pein did a jutsu that destroyed the village and now Naruto was here fighting. I tried to sit up only for, pain to shoot through my body. Choji began to freak and forced me down.

"don't try and move. you're injured." Choji said.

"he's right Hitomi. you're not needed right now so let me heal you." Rico said.

I sighed and my fist clenched. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to again drift off into darkness. this time when I opened my eyes I was in the midnight forest. I walked through it until I came to the lake. I sat down to see Rico concentrating as he healed me.

I looked at my wrist to see the mark Miko gave me. I was the one known as one with spirits. You would think I could be more helpful.

"You haven't learnt the extent of your power yet. however, it can not be trained. It unlocks when you need it most." Rico said.

I sighed and laid by the lake and ran my hand through it. as I looked in it The image changed to that of my mothers. I looked at it as it turned back to me but it didn't change much. I guess I really do look like her.

I heard Rico fall to the ground and I ran up to him. his face looked strained as he panted. I gave a sad smile as I ran my fingers through his fur. he slightly nudged me. I looked at him and he lifted his paw up and over me. he then pulled me in and held me there before falling asleep.

I sighed and ran my fingers over his head. I snuggled into him feeling his warmth. I heard his heartbeat and steady breathing. It seemed to lull me to sleep. however, I managed to stay awake.

I placed my hand on Rico's chest and closed my eyes. I let some of my chakra flow into him. we were connected yes but if he became tired he could make it only affect him. as I did this my surroundings changed. you have got to be kidding me. right now.

Rico and Gethan stood beside a man looking at him with affection. they were in the spirit realm. the previous person who held the title one with spirits stood there were many spirits surrounding him.

"we will never love someone as much as you so please don't leave us." Rico cried.

"don't say such things. I know you will find another you will love more." He said.

Tear spiled from Rico's eyes as the man disappeared. the spirits cried and I felt my chest clench.

my surroundings went back to that of the midnight garden. I wonder if Rico wishes he was back with that man. I wonder if he would rather be with him than me.
