Chapter 3 | Surprise part 1

Katniss POV

"I hope that Peeta will be home soon," I gasp at Haymitch.

We sit together on the couch. I had a nightmare and woke up without Peeta. Fortunately Haymitch walked just inside but I'd rather Peeta wanted.

It is now about 6:00 PM, and he has not come home. I miss him. "He'll be here soon..." Hamiych sighs. He has an arm around me and pulls me close to him. "I love you Haymitch," I smile.

"I love you too, Katniss."

I hear the door open. "I'm home!"

Peeta.

I jump up and run as fast as possible to the door. I let myself fall into his arms.

"I ... t-thought y-yo-you were gone... a-w-way" I said between sobs.

"Do not worry baby, I'm back with you." He said comfortingly.

After a minute have been standing, Haymitch comes walking towards us.

"Katniss, before I go home, I have to tell you. You need to pull anything better than your nightgown. Besides, a lot of fun tonight ..." he smiles and walks outside. To his house.

I look Peeta quizzically, "what does he mean?"

"Listen to him. I have a surprise for you!"

I nod and smile, "I'm ready in twenty minutes!" I say and run upstairs. Throw my nightgown in bed and take a quick shower. When I finished showering I pull a neat but sexy dress. It is black and comes just above my knees. It sits tight to my body and has thin straps around my shoulders.

My hair hangs in loose waves over my shoulders. Flat black pumps and a dark pantyhose.

Peeta is going to love it.

I walk downstairs where Peeta is waiting.

"Wow..."

I giggle. He is so sweet.

"This was not necessary ..." Peeta smiles.

"Why not? I had to put something better?"

"Yes, but-"

I interrupt him by giving a kiss on his mouth "No buts," I smile.

I pull my coat on with my back to Peeta, and suddenly my view is black.

"Peeetaaaaa!" I scream.

"Shh ... Relax. It's just a blindfold," he chuckles.

"Oh," I say while he takes me outside.

"Please trust me, you'll be fine."

"Always," I smile and I hear he smiles too.
