When you love someone like I love Dominic Toretto, 6 years together dating doesn't seem any different than the first day he kissed me.
The only thing that's changed since then was now I was laying in my bed with Dom, looking at the ring that laid on my finger with love and admiration. My mind started to wonder, back to the biggest surprise of my life.
"Come on, Dom. So where are you taking me?" I asked from the passenger seat of Dom's Dodge Charger. He had spent most of his time working on the car, fixing it up till it was better than the old. And with my help, it now was.
Desert laid on both sides of the road, making me really wonder at this point where Dom was taking me. "They say an open road helps you think about where you've been, where you're going," Dom said, looking over at me before looking back at the road.
I smiled and let a small laugh escape my lips while I said, "I know where I've been and I have a few ideas where I'm going."
Dom smiled his perfect white teeth smile as we drove over a small hill, revealing hundreds of cars and people. A couple of food stands stood around it while a nice dirt track was all set up in the middle of it all. A sign holding two words made a huge smile crawl to my lips, "Race Wars!" I said with excitement.
Letting out a chuckle, Dom reached over and grabbed my hand as we made our way to Race Wars.
Dom and I created Race Wars years ago, when we were kids. I needed a place to practice and Dom needed a place to hold races with his friends. Before we knew it, more people were knocking on our door, asking for the name of this new found race tract.
Thus was created Race Wars.
Ever since then, it's blown up ten times bigger then it was when it was just Dom and I. Yet, even if you were a new be, no one forgot who started it all.
We pulled up the car, parking it right at the starter line before we got out. One of our oldest friends, who was one of our first outsiders, Hector made his way over once he saw us get out.
"Man, the Dominic Toretto and Emily Fuller back where it all started. Tell me Em, did you finally leave me a kiss?" Hector asked, swinging his arm over my shoulder. Though he'll never admit it, Hector always had a thing for me. But knowing I was Dom's girl, he never made a move.
That never stopped him from joke flirting.
I laughed and shook my head, "Maybe someday," I said, wrapping my own arm around him before pulling him down and giving him a noogie. He struggled for a full minute before I finally let go, hearing him laugh as he pointed at me.
"Still got the tricks up your sleeve too."
"Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I always save a good noogie for you."
Hector shrugged, realizing that would have to be good enough for him while he hugged Dom. He said a few things to him that were unheard as a few other people came over and hugged me.
Before I knew it, Dom's hand was on my shoulder and I was being led back to the car. He opened the driver's door and nodded for me to get in, "You ready to race?" He asked with an already knowing smile.
"Always," I said as I got in, turning the car on as he shut my door. Dom checked out the kid next to me, his car so bright green that I swear the sun would bounce off of it and I'd be blinded.
Dom leaned in through the window before saying, "Keep it under 9,000 RPMs. Kid's gonna fry his pistons after the first 200."
"What?" I asked, looking over at him as I threw my hair up into my usual racing pony-tale, "You know that's not my style here. I gotta ride or die, right?"
