My mom, Kris, and I stayed with Landon that night.

"Do you know what ever happened to dad?" I asked mom the next morning.

"Oh, yeah. The police came with the ambulance to get your grandmother for some reason, and they saw the bruises on me and went to the house to get him. They said they found him locked in a closet." My mother burst out laughing after she said that.

I looked over at Ben who winked back.

"But we are free now! The house is under investigation or something, so until that is all cleaned up we are going to be staying with my sister." She continued.

"You have a sister?" I asked.

"Yeah. She noticed the bruises once and your father forbid me to see her anymore. But she is amazing! You are going to love her so much Lillian. She can't wait to meet you."

"Hold on! Where does she live?" I asked.

"About three hours from here I believe."

"Mom! Is there anyone else we can stay with? I don't want to be that far away from Landon! I can't be!"

"I'm sorry honey." She said, grabbing my hand, "She lives the closest to us."

"You can always stay here. Or at my place, Lillian." Ben said from across the kitchen.

At that moment Landon walked in the room. "Good morning beautiful!" He chimed as he sat in the chair next to me. He must have noticed the tension in the room, "What's going on?" He looked from face to face with a confused expression.

My mother was the first to speak, "Lillian is moving with me and Kris to live with my sister."

Landon faced me. "That's great! You can finally see your family!"

"It's three hours away from here." I said.

His face fell. "Lillian, I don't care what it takes. I will drive three hours everyday to see you. This is a good thing, don't be sad." He took my face in his hands. "I love you, remember? Nothing will separate us."

I breathed out the breath I was holding. "You're right. I love you, too."

He smiled and took my hand. "Can we go on a walk or something for a minute?" He stood up, pulling me with him.

The warm summer air hit me in the face. The flowers stood straight up all over the yard, filling the air with their smell.

"I know the prettiest place back here. Just follow me." He pulled me around the house and into the woods.

Light filtered through the woods, lighting a path. After about four minutes the trees spread out and opened into a giant clearing.

There was a small pond in the middle and different flowers covered the ground.

"Woah." I said as I walked forward.

"Isn't it pretty?" Landon said.

"Absolutely!"

Landon pulled me to the ground next to him. Flowers rose high on both sides, probably hiding us from everything.

He kissed me gently on the lips and then sat up. "You are the most gorgeous girl I have ever met. I feel like we are just perfect together, and I have felt that since I first met you. You make me so happy whenever I am near you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you so much and I want you to know that. Lillian, will you marry me?" He reached behind him and pulled out a small velvet black box.

He opened it and a small golden ring sat inside. The diamond on top of it reflected the sunlight, sending sparkles across his face.

"Yes! There is no one I would want to be with more than you! Of course!" I screamed.

He took my hand a gently slid the ring on my finger. "I know I was suppose to ask your father, but I couldn't really do that. But I did ask your mother and she was thrilled."

I smiled and jumped forward, bringing him down to the ground with me. I laid on top of him and kissed him.

We just laid there for a while, his arms around me.

"Should we go tell everyone?" I asked.

"I'm kind of scared to. Dahlia is going to kill me for not telling her about this thing. I knew if I told her she would tell you though. She sucks at keeping secrets." He said.

"I'll protect you if she tries to hurt you." He pulled me to my feet and handed me a flower from the field.

We walked through the woods and finally reached the house. Dahlia was waiting outside.

"I cannot believe you! How could you not tell me! You always tell me everything!" She stomped forward.

Landon crouched behind me, "Protect me Lillian!" He screamed.

"Don't hide behind my sister-in-law!" She realized what she said and looked at me. "My sister-in-law!" She threw her arms around me. "I am so happy for you! Well, I'm happy for Lillian, I'm still mad at you Landon!" She looked over and smiled at him and gave him a hug. "At least you got a good girl." She whispered to him. They both laughed.

"Dahlia?" I said.

"Yeah?" She looked over at me.

"Well, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to be my maid-of-honor."

"Oh my gosh! Yes! Thank you!" She threw her arms around me and hugged me tightly.

Landon took my hand again. "Well, I have to go ask Ben something, too."

We walked around the house, everyone already waiting outside, I guess they all knew.

My mom ran up and hugged me. "Did you say yes?" She asked.

"Of course." I said back.

"My little girl is growing up! I mean she is about to be married!" She let go and looked at me. "I love you, angel."

"I love you too mom." I said.

I walked over to where Kris stood. "Krissy? Can I ask you something?"

"I guess so." She said.

I crouched down to her level. "Do you want to be the flower girl at the wedding?" It felt weird saying the word wedding out loud.

"Yes! I was wondering when you were going to ask!" She said.

I hugged her tightly for a second before I stood and walked over to Landon's side.

"Ben, would you be my best-man?" Landon asked.

"I guess, I mean I have nothing better to do." He smiled and hugged Landon, "I would love to! I'm so happy for you." I heard him whisper into his ear.

"Oh, and here is the fiancé!" Ben said as he looked at me. The word 'fiancé' was weird to hear spoken out loud too.

"Here I am!" I said.

Ben bent down and hugged me, picking me up in the air. "Welcome to the family! I'm really happy for you, sis." He whispered in my ear then burst out laughing.

Dahlia was hugging Landon. My mom was talking to Landon's dad. And everything was finally perfect.
