Lilia was asleep in my arms, the bottle she had finished laying across her stomach.

I was going to breastfeed her but I really wasn't in the mood so I just made her a bottle and gave it to her.

I was about to get up to put her in her room when my phone buzzed with a text message. It was Justin.

Justin: hey. u awake?

Ari: yeah, what's up?

Justin: can't sleep. can we talk?

Ari: sure. I'm gonna put Lily in her crib first.

Justin: k, lemme know when you're done

I put my phone down and stand up, walking to Lilia's room. I move the blankets and stuffed animals out of the way before laying her down. I cover her halfway with her blanket and place her favorite stuffed animal in her hand.

"Good night, Princess. Mommy loves you." I kiss her head before walking out of the room and closing the door.

I walk back to the living room to retrieve my phone before going to my room and shutting my door gently.

Once I'm comfortable in my bed, I open my messages and reply to Justin.

Ari: I'm back.

Justin: heyyyyy. wyd?

Ari: just got in bed. wbu?

Justin: playing with my dog

Ari: OMG YOU HAVE A DOG I LOVE DOGSSSS!!!!!!!

Justin: yes, I do. her name is Esther

Ari: that is adorable. my apartment doesn't allow dogs 😭

Justin: aw, I'm sorry. you should meet Esther, you would love each other. wyd tomorrow?

Ari: Lily has a doctors appointment 😩

Justin: ooh, fun. can I come?

Ari: sure.

Justin: I'm kidding. that seems like an invasion of privacy

Ari: no, its not. and I'm serious. she gets shots tomorrow and I don't wanna be there by myself. can u come?

Justin: would I even be allowed back there with you?

Ari: I'm sure you would. pleaseeeeee?

Justin: Ari, are you sure?

Ari: positive. can you?

Justin: I guess I have no choice. jk, I'll be there. where will I be, again?

Ari: Arizona Pediatrics @11 am, thank you so much

Justin: no problem, wouldn't want you to be alone while she gets shots. seems like torture. can I ask where her dad is?

Ari: he left for back home earlier today. we had Lilia really early in our relationship and he wasn't ready for a baby. he's going to get his life together, but idk if we'll ever get back together.

Justin: oh, i'm so sorry.

Ari: don't worry about it. I'm just glad we both realized what was best for both of us.

Justin: good. you should get some sleep if you have an appt tomorrow.

Ari: guess ur right. see u tomorrow

Justin: goodnight, dimples. can I call you that bc its really cute
