Sunday, December 3

8:21 pm

"I think I'm about to put Lily to bed. We have to wake up early tomorrow, unlike some people."

"I have to wake up at 4 am when I'm deployed so don't even try to do that."

"I apologize, Justin. I'm gonna go brush my teeth, so you get to watch my baby for a little bit." I set my phone up on my dresser so Justin can see my bed.

"I can't even see her. Where is she?"

"Oh, she's on the floor. I don't leave her on the bed when I'm not in the room. What kind of mom do you think I am?"

"I thought that's why I was here."

"No sir. You just get to be in here with her."

I walk into my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face, and to change into my pajamas since my closet is in my bathroom.

Literally right as I walk out of the bathroom, I see Lilia fall from the little couch in front of my bed and straight onto her face.

There's a split second of silence, then she starts screaming extremely loud.

I run to my baby and pick her up, trying to quiet her down, then I see a cut on the side of her face. I assume she hit her face on the leg of the couch when she fell.

"Shh, princess. It's okay." I rock her in my arms until she quiets down, then I go make her a bottle.

My princess still has tears in her eyes and rolling down her face while she drinks her bottle, and I literally feel so bad that I couldn't catch her.

When I return to my room, I realize Justin was still on the phone. He looked like he was in shock over what he just saw.

"Justin? Are you okay?" I ask.

"I'm fine, the more important question would be is Lilia okay."

"She's fine. She just got a cut on the side of her face. My poor baby."

I grab my phone and place it next to my pillow, then I get in my bed with Lilia still in my arms. I talk to Justin for a little longer before saying good night to him.

With my full attention now on Lilia, I stroke her hair and she drinks her bottle until she falls asleep.

I'm definitely not letting my princess sleep by herself. She's sleeping with mommy tonight.

I hold her in my arms for a little while before laying her next to me and going to sleep myself.

Monday, December 4

6:45 am

I had been awake for almost an hour, and I couldn't get back to sleep. Lilia was still asleep, and I was just watching her, waiting for my alarm to go off.

When I was on my phone a couple minutes ago, it was the only light in my room, and I could see the cut on Lilia's face. It looked a little swollen but it definitely looked better than last night.

I still felt horrible that I was literally so close to getting her and I didn't. But, I know accidents happen, and I'm just glad she's okay.

7:00 am

I turn my alarm off right as it comes on, so it doesn't wake Lilia up, then I go get her bottle ready. Once it's done, I take it into my room and lay it next to her before going to my bathroom to get ready for the day.

I brush my teeth and take a shower before returning to my room where Lilia is sitting up in my bed, staring at nothing.

"Good morning, mommy's princess. Did you sleep okay?" I sit next to her and pull her into my lap.

She reaches for my boob, and it's really easy since I'm only wearing a bra, but I grab her bottle and feed it to her until it's empty.

"Okay, babe, mama has to get dressed so I'm gonna put you on the bed and I would like you to stay on the bed, please and thank you."

I lay Lilia on the bed with the rest of her bottle and find something to wear to work, then I go to her room and find something for her to wear.

After I get dressed, I go get Lilia and brush her two teeth before getting her dressed as well.

I just give Lilia fruit for breakfast, which she barely eats any of, then I put her in the living room to play while I make and drink a smoothie.
