Ariana's ex-boyfriend is moving back to Arizona, leaving her and their daughter alone in California. Ariana doesn't know what to do since her family is back in Florida. She's raising her daughter by herself, until she meets Justin. He comes into her...
"Aww, my poor girl. Why are you feeling these things?"
"I don't want him to get hurt. Emergencies are never good."
"Don't think about it like that. Maybe some kids need some special shots to keep them safe from diseases. Wouldn't you want him to go help those kids?"
"Of course, Nonna. But what-"
"Nope. Don't even say it. Justin will be fine. I know he will. He's a very strong, brave man. Now you know what you signed up for dating a man of the military, right?"
"Yes, I do."
"Exactly. Now, cheer up. We're going shopping. I love you."
"I love you too, Nonna." I kiss her forehead and she disappears upstairs.
"Mommy, where are you?" I call.
"In the living room." She replies.
I walk to the living room and see my mom showing Lilia pictures of me when I was a baby.
"This is your mama taking a bath, and this is her being a little shit and throwing her food on the floor."
"Mom!" I say.
"What? She can't understand what I'm saying. Leave us alone."
"Yeah, right. Nonna said we're going shopping."
"Oh yeah, I did tell her that. I guess you should get your daughter dressed then. Maybe yourself. too."
She closes the photo album and places it on the coffee table before standing up to give Lilia to me.
"Let's go get ready to go, princess. Mommy's gonna get you very adorable for our little shopping trip." I kiss her cheek before walking up the stairs.
I walk into my room and place Lilia on my bed.
"What should mommy wear?" I dig through my suitcase then through my closet and drawers which both still contain my old clothes.
"This looks cute, doesn't it? I like this. I think Justin would like it, too."

"Now for my princess. What would you like to wear, babe?"
I look through her suitcase to narrow my options down to two.
"A dress with a jean jacket or a onesie with some shorts?"
"Ba!" Lilia yells.
"Dress it is." I take Lilia pajamas off and change her diaper before getting her dressed.

"Hey, we almost match today. We're both wearing dresses." I pick her up and walk to the bathroom.
I just brush through my hair and leave it down, but I brush Lilia's hair and put it in two pigtails with a white bow.
"Mommy's baby looks so cute. Let's ask grandma to take a picture. I can post it on Instagram!" I grab my purse and walk downstairs where my mom and Nonna are sitting in the living room.
"Mommmm?" I say.
"What do you want child?"
"Can you take a picture of me and my baby?" I ask.
"Of course. I would want nothing more than to take a picture of my grandchild and her mother."
"Yay!" I squeal, giving her my phone.
I pose with Lilia for a few pictures and post the really good ones on Instagram.
"Okay, now we're ready to go."
"Finally. We've been waiting forever for you two."
"Excuse me, I had two people to get ready, one of which was very unwilling to cooperate. Plus, you two get ready when you wake up. You didn't even have to do anything."
