"Ariana!" Tara yells.
"What? I'm awake. Damn."
"Your daughter is crying. Please go get her."
"Was yelling really necessary?" I ask, sitting up.
"You wouldn't wake up. You drank some hard liquor last night, didn't you?" She laughs.
"I did. And I don't see what that has to do with anything." I walk to Lilia's room and push the door open.
She was still laying down, attempting to drink out of an empty bottle. That's probably why she was crying.
"Hey, baby. You ready to wake up?" I take her out of her crib, and pick up the bottle.
When I get to the kitchen, I put her in her high chair with strawberry banana puffs spread out on the tray before returning to my spot on the couch.
After Justin left, I took a shower and laid down on the couch, talking with Tara for a few minutes before I fell asleep.
Then, obviously, Lilia woke up and Tara woke me up to go get her.
I definitely didn't get enough sleep last night, not that I ever get enough sleep. It's just the fact that I was drunk, and I had sex for the first time in a while.
"How was your sex, Ariana?" Tara asks, almost as if she knew what was going on in my head.
"What are you talking about?" I open my eyes, looking at Tara.
She had a huge smirk on her face.
"Don't play dumb. How was the sex that you had last night? With Justin?"
"If you really wanna know, it was extraordinarily amazing. No offense, Alex, but Justin is... fantastic."
"Wow. You've never said that about anyone."
"I know. Justin is just so sweet and fun and sexy as hell."
"I can tell he makes you happy. Just remember, babe, don't rush into anything. I know you really like him, but take your time with this relationship. Don't let him force you to do anything you don't want to do, and think about her before you make a big decision. I know you already know that little girl is a huge part of your life now." Tara points to Lilia and I nod.
"I appreciate you so much. You literally give the best advice. I love you, T, and thanks for everything."
"No problem, babe. You deserve the best."
"Ma!" Lilia starts repeating, banging on her tray.
"I'm coming, princess. Patience." I get off the couch and take Lilia out of her high chair.
"You finished those fast." I sit her on the floor and watch her play with the book Tara had earlier.
"Auntie T loves you, but Auntie T is going home now. Treat your mama well, babe. Ari, I won't see you tomorrow, haha. But, I'll see you on Tuesday."
"Have fun with your off day. And thanks for babysitting."
"It's not babysitting, it's family sitting. And no problem." Tara gets her shoes on and grabs her purse before leaving the apartment.
"I guess it's just us now, babe. Wanna watch Moana?"
Lilia smiles, only because I was talking to her, and I take that as a yes to my question.
I sit on the couch while Lilia stays on the floor, playing with her toys.
I turn Moana on Netflix, not to watch it, but to keep Lilia occupied while I talk to Justin and Tara.
"Hey cutie." Justin says when I answer his facetime call.
"Hi!" I smile.
"Somebody's excited to see me. That's nice."
"Of course I am."
"That makes me feel special." Justin's smile causes me to smile, then Lilia crawls over to me and starts crying for no apparent reason.
"What's wrong, babe?" I lift her into my lap and she immediately stops crying.
"She just wanted mom." Justin says.
"She always wants mom. Always."
"Isn't that a good thing?"
"Not when mom is trying to do something important."
"Oh, well. Sucks for you." Justin laughs.
"Haha, you're so funny."
Lilia starts tugging at my shirt and I shake my head.
"No babe, no milk yet. I'm sorry, love. It's all Justin's fault."
"It is not. You were the one drinking, not me."
"You were drinking too, so shut up."
"I don't have to breastfeed, though, so it's not a problem for me."
"I hate boys." I say.
"Glad I'm a man. That means you don't hate me, right?"
"No, I strongly dislike you."
"Strongly dislike and hate are the same thing. Hate is just the meaner was to say it."
"Exactly."
"See? You're being a little nicer to me."
"Whatever Justin. What are you doing?"
I continue trying to keep Lilia's hands away from my shirt, but she will not give up.
"Talking to a beautiful girl. What about you?"
"Trying to keep a baby girl from having alcohol in her system."
"Oh, sounds difficult."
"It is. She won't quit." I place Lilia on the floor and she starts to cry.
"Now I have to go warm her up another damn bottle. This is too much work." I stand up and walk to the kitchen, Lilia crawling right behind me.
I take a bottle out of the freezer and warm it up for Lilia so she'll leave me alone.
"Here you go, princess. Now go watch Moana, please."
I watch Lilia walk back to the couch and attempt to climb on it. Of course, she drops her bottle and fails, so that makes her start to cry.
I groan, walking over to the couch and placing her on it before giving her the bottle.
"Now, Justin, hi."
"Hey."
I talk to Justin until Lilia is done with her bottle and will not leave me alone.
"I'll talk to you later, cutie." I blow Justin a kiss before hanging up and picking Lilia up.
"What do you want, baby?" I ask.
"Ma!" She says.
"Oh, me, of course. Who doesn't? You wanna go to Target?"
Lilia starts to cry and I laugh.
"Okay, okay. We won't go to Target." I go sit on the couch with Lilia in my lap and she starts playing with my cheeks for some odd reason.
I let her continue to play with my face until she starts to actually hurt me.
"Okay, that's enough. I haven't given you a bath in a couple of days. I'll give you one now."
I go in my bathroom and turn the water on before going to get Lilia's clothes. She doesn't love baths, but she doesn't hate them either.
"Alright, love. Here's all your toys. Have fun."
