5:23 am

After finally getting home around 5 am, I planned on sleeping for most of the day, but of course my sick child wouldn't let that happen. The Motrin put her to sleep for most of the remainder of our flight, but as we got into California, she woke up very unhappy. It was a huge hassle getting a fussy baby through the airport along with all of the luggage while also trying to keep up with my keys and phone, but it was a relief when we finally made it to the car and I could put everything down.

At the moment, Lilia was crying, and had been since we got home. She was not happy with bottle, boob, pacifier, Moana, or anything else I tried, so I laid her in my bed next to me, defeated and ready to cry with her. I felt terrible that I couldn't comfort my girl, but she had already taken medicine and I couldn't give her any more for a couple hours.

Just when I was about to cover my face with a pillow and start sobbing, I heard fumbling outside my front door. The sound of keys jingling then my door unlocking came next, and I froze. I thought it could be my landlord since he was the only other person who had keys to my apartment, but why would he be coming in here at 5:30 in the morning?

My daughters crying brings me back to the reality that someone was now in my apartment, and I was laying in bed half naked with a sick child and nothing to defend myself. I quietly get out of bed, though it was no use since whoever it was obviously heard crying coming from my room.

"Shh, baby. You're okay. I need you to be quiet for mommy, please." I whisper in her ear, stroking her hair as I close the door to my room and back into the corner.

I had no earthly idea what to do in this situation. Who plans for some random stranger to have a key to their apartment and let themselves in like this? Then I remembered. There was only one other person I gave a key to.

I hear footsteps making their way down the hallway towards my room, and silently plead that those heavy steps belong to the boots of a very familiar person.

The footsteps stop outside my door, which is slowly pushed open to reveal Justin, clothed in his military uniform, with a huge smile on his face and a huge bouquet of red roses in his hand.

I breathe a huge sigh of relief, holding my hand to my heart as Lilia's cries fade and she reaches her chubby arms out to the man in my doorway.

"Oh. My. God." Justin moves closer to us and I can feel my heart beating in my chest. "Justin Bieber, I am gonna kill you!" I yell.

"I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to scare you. I thought you would be asleep, but when I heard Lily crying I knew you were awake. I was gonna surprise you when you woke up in the morning." Justin puts the flowers down on the bed and takes Lilia from me, wrapping his free arm around me.

"She was sick on the flight home and she hasn't stopped crying since we got here. I tried everything, Justin, but nothing worked. I felt like a terrible mom, all for her to stop crying because she sees you." I break down in tears, probably looking like a complete fool, but not caring.

I hadn't slept in almost 24 hours and here Justin is, scaring me half to death, and calming my sick baby just by walking in the room.

"Oh, baby girl. It's alright. I'm sure you're exhausted. Come on, lets lay down so you can get some rest." Justin rubs my back before leading me to the bed.

He moves the roses to the dresser and helps me get under the covers, all while holding Lilia on his hip. After wiping away my tears and planting a kiss on my forehead, Justin leaves the room shutting the door behind him.

The bed feels so warm and inviting, and the silence is a nice change from the screaming I dealt with for hours. My eyes flutter shut and I'm asleep within seconds.

The only thing I remember is Justin climbing into bed with me, telling me he rocked Lilia to sleep with no issues and she was now peacefully in her crib.
