The hustle and bustle of Overwatch headquarters had gotten a bit too much for you, a sit down was more than welcome. You sat down and started to flick through the various channels on the television that sat in front of you.

"Nothing on as usual, just the same old rubbish." You thought to yourself, turning off the television and choosing to just look around instead. Angela and Fareeha stood at the coffee machine, talking and giggling away as usual, Ana and Reinhardt sat drinking tea, reminiscing about old times, just like normal.

Mei was... sneaking into a back room... not... quite like normal.

"Hey Mei, wanna do something?" you called out to her, trying to get her attention, but instead she just ignored you and carried on walking, storming into her room.

You followed her in, catching the door as she attempted to slam it behind her.

"Hey Mei..."

"Oh, hey Y/N."

You both stood there in an awkward silence for a few moments.

"So..." Mei said, "can I help you with anything Y/N?"

You scoured the room with your eyes, looking for a reason for Mei's fishy behaviour.

"No, no. I mean yes... I just wanted to ask you. Uumm, I just wanted to ask you... why you wear such a big coat"

"Well..." she paused for a few seconds, "I spent such a long time in Antarctica I guess it's just stayed."

As she spoke a low droning noise appeared from inside her coat.

"But it's not exactly cold here...Mei, what is going on here?"

She looked down at the floor.

"Shut the door." She said.

"Okay, I'll tell you. But please, you have to promise not to tell anyone."

"Wow" you thought to yourself, the possibilities racing through your head, so many things that it could be.

"Okay Mei, I promise, I won't tell another soul."

She slowly unzipped her large winter coat, doing it so slowly she may as well not be, she started to breathe deeper and deeper until a little pink nose emerged from the collar.

"Mei... you didn't, did you?"

She nervously smiled.

"Yeah... I did. Reinhardt said no but I found her on the street and I couldn't leave lil' Minerva on the side of the road all alone and scared."

She placed the cat onto her bed, it had a bright pink nose and tabby fur, it brushed up against her leg and nuzzled into the crevice of her knee.

"Okay" you said, resting your hand on the cat's head. "I will not tell anybody, and if you ever need somewhere to hide her you know where I am."
