Your girlfriend Lena had been at work all day, luckily not on a mission as that would have meant she'd not have been home tonight and likely not for at least a week. She only had training today which acted as a nine to five job. Like Lena you were busy nine to five but unlike her you were in a bed for those eight hours.

Recently it wasn't uncommon for you to reside in your bed. It actually was where you spent all your time minus the rare time you had to use the toilet. Lena did her best to help you, but the weight you felt meant no matter how she tried you felt useless and pointless. You appreciated her helping you but having depression was harder than anyone could imagine unless they experienced it themselves.

Having lost track of the time you weren't sure when Lena was expected home and only knew she was back when the front door slammed close. She quickly zipped into your shared bedroom, so you could see her through the small gap in your pillow and quilt fortress. Really, she shouldn't use her chronal accelerator out of work, but she did anyway.

"You alright, love?" She asked with a weak smile.

Not using words, you simply shook your head.

"Have you been in there all day?"

You nodded your head.

She gave you an apologetic smile. You knew she didn't like leaving you when you were so low, but you made her go to work as you didn't want your depression to affect her life too.

"I'll be back in a moment, Love," she smiled softly leaning in to leave a gentle kiss on your forehead.

Lena zipped off out of the room to somewhere you didn't know. You half expected her to not bother coming back but to your amazement she soon appeared back in the room, although this time she had a few things in her arms.

She carried a few items, unknown to you how she wasn't dropping them all. She handed you the largest chocolate bar you had ever seen whilst she placed your favourite mug filled with tea on the bedside cabinet. Once the ceramic receptacle was out of her hand, she passed you a fluffy ball that was a cat that you had never seen before. It did baffle you where she had gotten the cat but nevertheless you were happy to hear its purrs.

Lena threw a new blanket over you slipping into bed to cuddle you. It was a welcomed embrace as you leaned into her hug allowing the cat to curl into you too. This was the closest to happiness you had been in a long while.

You turned to Lena wanting an answer to the question you pondered.

"Whose cat is this?"

"It's best not to ask," she stated pulling you into a tighter embrace.
