The waves of people pushed and bashed you around like a pinball as you wondered around the jam-packed streets of Times square, the billboards projected themselves onto your face, almost blinding you. The bright lights were dazzling and hypnotising and almost kept you entranced. The trademark smell of hotdog stalls wafted through the crisp winter air and the singing and chirping of Broadway fans poured heavenly into your ears. There was just something magical about this place.

The luminous glow of the billboards slowly turned to darkness as they flickered off one by one, the murmuring of tourists and natives filled the air, like a colony of angry bees.

The darkness was slowly converted into an ominous purple glow. Where once, a barrage of advertisements attacked the crowd now only a single purple skull sat on each.

A cloak of panic draped over the crowd, yet nobody screamed. Nobody ran or rioted. It was eerily quiet until an electronic hum filled the air and the billboards flickered relentlessly before turning off completely.

In the blink of an eye all the screens flashed on at once, brighter than they had ever been before, yet there was no weird perfume on display, no new fashions being presented to the masses. Instead, there was a girl, just... sat there, leaning back in her chair and swaying back and forth.

"Hello everyone!" She waved at the crowd. The masses of people stood perfectly still, watching with awe and disbelief.

"You should not all be looking so scared, I am not going to hurt you!" A relieved sigh was heard across the crowd akin to a rolling wave.

"But these guys might!" She pointed with purple-tipped fingers to the top of one of the larger billboards to two silhouettes sat. Both were unrecognisable in the darkness. A scream erupted from the crowd and mad panic set in.

"Now. Now everybody." The person on the screen called out and as if they were some sort of messiah the screaming stopped.

"There is one way that you can stop the bloodshed, let me change that actually. There is a way that ONE of you can stop the bloodshed." She scanned the audience before finally stopping and pointing out into your general direction. "That one!" She called out, and at that a blinding light attacked your vision.

"Sacrifice that one and there will be no more bloodshed. Let him live and nobody makes it out alive. It is them... or you."
