"What?" I shouted.
Harry came from somewhere, and then came barging in our room.
"There you are!" He said
"Where else would I be?" I said as I folded up some of Zach's clothes.
"I have to tell you something." He said
"Okay." I said
"You know how I am back at work? And I do all sorts of engagements and stuff?"
I nodded.
"Yes, I know. What about it?"
"You're gonna hate me for this but-"
He hugged me.
"What-"
"Love, I think it has been a while since we even had time for each other."
He rubbed my back.
"We did have time for each other, about four days ago, wherein we had an argument-"
"You know that's not what I mean."
I let go.
"Let me just put Zach's clothes in a safe place. We all know how kicky you get." I said
"Kicky?" He said as I walked to the closet with Zach's tiny clothes.
"Yeah."
"I can be kinky but kicky-"
"No, you're kicky. You have kicked me before." I said
"I have not-" Harry said
I went back out and Harry was looking at me.
"Why do you think I waited months-"
"I kicked you before?"
"That's why Zach is a bit away from us."
"I am not kicky!" He said
I crossed my arms.
"I think you want something." I said
"What?" He said
"Even before, I think you want something. What is it?"
"Is it possible to just want you-"
"Harry, it is, but when you start it with a hug and those cheesy lines, you want something. What is it-"
"Love-"
"What is it?"
"You're gonna hate me for this."
"What!"
"So, I finally got my schedule for upcoming engagements."
"That's good."
"And I was given something that you are gonna hate."
"What?"
"I have a tour." He said
"A tour?"
"Yeah, uh, for Invictus-"
"That's great."
"And also, gonna be doing a bit more princing."
"Great. Why am I gonna hate it?"
"Because it's gonna pass through Christmas."
I frowned.
"What?"
He handed me his iPad, with the schedules.
"Not just fucking Christmas."
"Love-"
"Tour starts August 3rd, you won't be here September 15, your birthday. December, Zach's first Christmas, Janu-fuck! You're coming back April?" I said
"Yeah, I know. It's just that-"
"Just what? Harry, you're gonna miss most of the holidays and Zach's milestones!"
"I know-"
I handed him his iPad back.
"Better start packing." I said as I grabbed Zach and went out the room.
I'm starting to think that Harry is prioritizing work over us.
To be fair, he was with us for the past months, but gone for 9 months? He might as well be back in the army.
"Are you really Princing or are you going back in the army?" I said
"Princing. Love, things like this always happen."
"Maybe I was just expecting too much from you."
We were in the gardens, and Zach was asleep in my arms. I was sitting down the stone bench, and Harry was standing behind me.
"I know you are."
"But it's not your job to live up to it, it's my job to lower it down."
"Love-"
"I'm not happy with this, and it's not like we can do anything. Not like I can do anything. Go do what you want."
"Love, it's not like I want to do it. I have to do it."
"Because you're a Prince first. I know. Do it. But don't expect me to even help you pack." I said
"Love, come on-"
I looked at him.
"Don't worry, I'll see you off. Stand on the runway, hug and kiss you." I said
He blinked.
"I'm not going away with you angry at me."
"Go tell that to the Queen. And then get back at me, and I'll quit the attitude." I said
...
August 3rd came. And I was true to my word, I prepared myself to go out with Harry, and he stood by his decision and packed his things without any of my help. Of course, the helps assisted him.
"Are you really not gonna talk to me?" Harry said as Austin drove us to the airport.
Finally, I was able to trust someone with Zach, so we left him at home. I'll be back soon anyway.
"What if the plane malfunctions and I die with it, would you be able to live with yourself and with the fact that you spent the last few weeks of my life ignoring me?" Harry said
"You're gonna die with me ignoring you. You should be the one to have regrets because you wouldn't have to be in that plane in the first place if you didn't agree to that engagement schedule of yours." I said
"And for countless times, I apologise. I-"
"Have a safe trip, love." I said
"Allana-" he said
"No, I mean it. Go have fun." I said
He sighed, Austin stopped at the corner.
"Love, please. I need you to understand."
"I think you should understand that all that I have been doing from the start of our relationship is to understand you."
"Not to sound so insensitive but-"
"I know that I am a bit handful and-"
"I have to do this for us. Not just for money, but I have to do this for our safety and security. And the only thing that I could do to maintain that is to do things like this tour-"
"Harry, go. Please."
He clicked his tongue.
"Let the record show that you let me go." He said
"I am letting you go. Go on tour. Have fun." I said, looking at him.
"Okay. Thank you." He said, hugging me.
