I lay down the bed and waited for Allana to come back, and of course, waited for her anger to simmer down.
I must’ve slept because when I came back to consciousness, Allana was there by my side, reading.
" You’re back." I said.
" Yep. Welcome back." she said.
"What time is it?" I asked her.
She frowned.
" Uh, 10:57 pm" she said.
"I missed dinner?"
"Yes."
" What did you have for dinner?"
She closed the book.
" I didn’t have dinner, okay? " she said.
" So, you’re hungry?"
"No. "
She’s irritated.
She turned and drifted off to sleep.
" Good night." I said.
" Night. " she said.
I was staring on the ceiling when Allana’s phone rang.
"Allana?"
"Mm?"
" Your, uh, phone.."
Great, she’s asleep.
I picked it up.
" Hello?"
"Hi, Harry."
"Carmela?"
"Could you please take it outside?" Allana said.
"It’s Carmela."
" I don’t care. Take it outside."
She turned and went back to sleep.
I stood up, got my robe and went out the balcony.
Damn. It’s chilly outside.
"I’m sorry. " I said.
" No, it’s okay. "
"So, why did you call?"
" Uh, there has been a slight change with the wedding date. "
" Oh.. kay.."
" The wedding’s within 2 days. "
" 2 days?"
Who could do a wedding in 2 days!?
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Well, Will’s not available at September 14th. He’s got a project overseas at that time, he was informed hours ago, and I have been calling everyone since then. "
" Oh."
And she decides to call her sister at 10 pm.
" Would you mind telling her?"
" In fact, I do. I have my own problems. "
" Oh?"
" Yeah. Call her tomorrow morning."
“Okay.”
"Good bye."
I hung up and went back to bed.
2 days?
So much for preparation.
