The next morning, Allana was having one of her morning sickness episodes again.
"Do you think you can go to William's party tonight?" I asked her.
She went out the bathroom frowning.
" Of course I can! Can you?"
" Yes. We have to give the gift to William now. "
She went back on the bed. " Could you just give it to him? I just wanna stay in bed until I feel better. "
" Will you be okay without me here for a while?"
" I'll just back to sleep. And wake me up when you get back, okay?"
I kissed her forehead.
" Okay, just feel better. I love you. "
" Love you too. "
I put a blanket on her and showered up.
At about 12, I found myself in William's apartment.
" Harry, what are you doing here?" William said as he descends the stairs.
I stood up. Habit.
" I came here to give you something. "
He approached me and gave me a bro-hug.
I handed him the paperbag.
" Happy Birthday, William from Allana and Harry. "
"What's this?" he said as he opened the bag.
" Hope you enjoy it. "
" Bloody hell! I.. " I can tell that he loves the gift.
" You're welcome. "
When I got back home, Allana was lying down the bed with a book at hand.
" Honey, I'm home. " I did the traditional singsong of the famous line.
" Hello, dear. " she patted my spot on the bed. And I sat down.
" How did he find it?" she asked, putting the book down.
" He loves it! Says thank you. "
" That's good. "
" How are you feeling?"
She exhaled. " I'll be able to attend the party, as long as I sit down most of the time. And have a lot of water. "
" Are you sure? "
" Yeah. That's all part of it. "
