but I thought Chris was flying in this morning?

he is

are you not grabbing him from the airport?

MINNIE
nah, we have plans, I'm not about to cancel them to pick him up from the airport. I'm not his only option, after all

LOLA
are you sure?

MINNIE
Lola I'm never gonna drop you for him, it doesn't work like that

MINNIE
me and you have plans that I've been looking forward to since we made them

LOLA
good good, I'm glad

MINNIE
did you think that I'd have gone and see him instead of seeing through what I'd organised with you? because if you've gotten the impression that I'm that sort of person, then I'd genuinely like to apologise

MINNIE
just because I have a boyfriend now, it doesn't mean that he's my number one priority

MINNIE
sure, chris means a lot to me, but so do you, and a whole host of other people. no one is more important than the other, and only if a situation desperately called for it would I prioritise one person I love over another

LOLA
it isn't anything against you, just other people I know would've blown off the plans in order to go and see their significant other

MINNIE
that isn't the slightest bit okay in my books

MINNIE
not unless the other person n e e d s them, you know?

I appreciate you a lot, I don't feel like we say it enough, though

I think I'm getting there, yeah

has he said anything of the same sort to you?

not yet, but that's okay, there's no reason to push for something until we're both there

want me to ask lizzie if he's admitted as much to anyone?

I appreciate the offer, but I'm ready and willing to wait for it to come from him

I'd rather hear it directly from him

there are aspects of our relationship that need to be between me and him, meddling never does much good
