Evelyn had shoved her phone roughly into Jungkook's hands when she ran off.

She sat on the edge of the bridge, staring down into the clear water. She ran off just like that, leaving Jungkook and V behind in the park. You'd think they would be able to catch up fast, but she managed to get the attention of a taxi driver and had him drive her here.

This wasn't a park, which was good, since just the thought of being alone in a park terrified her.

"So V... no, Taehyung...?" Evelyn quickly corrected herself when she found herself referring to Taehyung by his device name — or, stage name, she supposes. "He was a member of BTS...? I remembered Hoseok but not Taehyung...?"

Moments of the past week flashed through her head like it would in a film.

Who would've thought this was possible? A phone that turns into a human? Sounds like something out of a fictional story.

But the supposedly impossible just had to happen to her. Not that she was mad that it was her phone, just that she didn't expect all the trail of events followed by it.

Come to think of it, didn't Taehyung say that no one would be able to see him except for her?

Then what was with that man the other day?

And with Jungkook earlier?

Evelyn flinched and spun her head around when she heard faint footsteps on the grass behind her. "Who is it?"

She should've known better.

She shouldn't have made the same mistake she did sixteen years ago by going anywhere alone, park or not.

The man jumped slightly. How did she hear him? He was so silent, there was no way her ears were sensitive enough to pick up those sounds —

He didn't think more about it and just charged for the girl sitting by the edge, clamping his hands over her mouth to muffle her screams.

... some time later ...

"Evelyn!" Sehun shut the car door and ran towards the bridge, to find it completely unoccupied. "Where the hell is she?! If anything happens to her, I..."

He took a deep breath, fully aware that he was beginning to panic. Calm down.

Jimin chased after Sehun and placed his hands on the older's shoulders, shaking him lightly. "Are there any other places where she could possibly be?"

Sehun shook his head, his voice unstable and cracked in the middle of his sentence. "Not that I know of. I have no idea where else—where was the last place you saw her?"

"Jungkook was with her after her filming, but she disappeared after that. She threw her phone at him too." Jimin replied, his voice full of concern and frustration as well.

The cold evening breeze brushed past the two men, lifting up withered leaves with it as if it understands the situation. Jimin and Sehun both stood in silence, each thinking of completely different things.

Jimin's phone ringtone broke his running train of thought as he jumped, startled. He glanced down at his device, gasping slightly when he saw the caller ID. "Hello...?"

"Ask Jungkook if Evelyn was wearing any jewelry when he saw her." Hoseok's voice instructed calmly. His attempt at calming Jimin was evident, but it wasn't working.

"Hoseok-hyung, you finally called — aish, it's not the time for that — why do you need to know that?" Jimin stuttered, his eyes wide.

"Did I leave you for so long that you forget who my father is?" Hoseok chuckled. "BH Corp. can trace jewelry."

He never knew his father's company would come in handy.

He's always hated it, after all.

"But how does that work — "

"Quit asking questions and text Jungkook for me, if you want to find Evelyn!" Hoseok cut him off and hung up.

Jimin quickly texted the maknae and the latter replied as soon as he read the text.

Muscle Maknae🐰: Circle amethyst earrings with gold backing, around 3 karats, brilliant cut.

"How the hell does he notice all this — "

His phone dinged with a notification.

Hoseok: COPY AND PASTE HIS TEXT TO ME.

Jimin scratched his head lightly before doing what Hoseok requested. "Hoseok said he can track Evelyn's earrings." He explained to Sehun who was looking a little skeptical.

"Trusting him is our only option now, isn't it?" Sehun sighed.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Jimin snapped back, "He used to be a member of our group. Why are you acting like he's not trustworthy?"

Sehun rolled his eyes. "I never said he wasn't trustworthy. Do what he says, I just want to find my sister."

The younger one bit his lip and held on the text message from Jungkook to copy it and sent it to Hoseok, his hands slightly trembling.

He was trying to act tough.

But on the inside, he was breaking down.

Evelyn was so precious to him, he couldn't afford to lose her a second time. It took them fourteen years to reunite.

If it were to happen again, he has no idea how much longer it would take to find her again.

Hoseok: 1313, XXX Street, Seoul.

Jimin tapped Sehun on the shoulder and shoved his phone in the older's face to let him read the text.

"Time to go."

...

Taehyung tugged at his silver hair in frustration. "Where the hell did Evelyn go?!"

His heart was pounding so loud he was sure Jungkook, who was beside him could've heard it. A bead of sweat made its way down his forehead and his jawline.

"Jimin is trying his best to look for her," Jungkook reassured him, though the worry was prominent in his own tone of voice, "I think the other hyungs are in on this too."

"I can't lose her... I... what would I do without her? I've finally found her—I was fortunate enough to come back and see her again—I—"

Jungkook sternly placed his hands on Taehyung's shoulders. "Stop thinking negatively. Calm down. Freaking out won't help any of us."

With that, the text from Hoseok arrived with the location of Evelyn.

"V-hyung," Jungkook glanced up from his phone, "Let's go find her."
