Ula just sat there, looking through the window, holding a cup of hot cocoa. Her thoughts were wandering somewhere else. Rain gave her the background she wanted, and she could finally relax. The little amethyst necklace on her neck hanged still-it was also calm.
Asra was gone for the past week, it made her worry a little bit. But she knew, that he's okay. She knew, that he can defend himself no matter what. And he could contact her through her rock. He carried one himself. It made them inseparable. It could've kept her calm, but the rock was silent for the past week. As long as Asra was gone.
About the rock-a little purple amethyst, hanged on a silver chain. It sometimes 'buzzed' when Ula was in stress or anxious. It sometimes made calming noises which only she could hear, because it was designed for her when she was feeling down. And it stayed still when she was relaxed or happy.
The amethyst lightly vibrated, and those waves went through whole Ula's body. She grabbed it and started running it down her fingers. The silver chain was warm from her body. Ula stared at the rock, tried to contact Asra once more. But sadly, nothing. A sad sigh left her mouth. She closed her eyes and listened into the rain once more. Suddenly, a knock. It startled her. She jumped from the chair she was sitting and opened the door.
Behind them was Julian. The plague doctor and Ula's friend's partner. "I'm sorry for the rush.. Could I come in?" he started. Ula just nodded, and when Julian slipped in, she quickly closed the doors. Doctor shook off the rain water off his hair. "I do hope you have some yarrow. Dominyka's pretty sick, she has some kind of an injury on her loins. Blood doesn't stop rushing and I'm running out of bandages. I though you'd have them too" he spoke quickly, seemingly stressed. "Ah, the poor thing.. Yes, I do have some yarrow and bandages. I also could offer you some mint tea, it should faster the healing process" she said, sliding behind the curtains and bringing a little jar, full of white headed plants. She gave it to the wet doctor, slid to the kitchen and brought a jar of tea and a box of bandages "Here we are. Wish her luck from me. I'm actually pretty thankful that you're taking care of her. And that you love her for who she is". Julian smiled "I sometimes think that I'm a pretty lucky man with her, haha. Thanks anyways. I should get going, I said I'll be right back". Julian rushed to the door, opening them, but suddenly Ula grabbed his overcoat "Hey, um, don't you know where Asra could be?" "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I have no idea. The man likes to travel" he said shrugging his shoulders. Ula let him go, and he disappeared in the rain.
Ula came back to her chair, she started rocking in it. She took the amethyst in her hand once more. She wished that Asra would be here. She wanted to snuggle with him on the couch. She missed his scent, his warmth and warm talks. She sighed once more and stood up, finishing her cup. She left for the room, changed her clothes and laid down on her side. "I wish Asra was here.." a mind flushed through her brain. She closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep, but the thoughts of her friend sick and her partner taking care of her didn't let her sleep. Tears tried to break through, but she calmed herself with the thought that Asra will be home soon. He will. And then both of them are going to sleep together, snuggle with quiet talks and walk through the town.
She started dozing. Suddenly, something went down on the other side of the bed, but she didn't feel it. Something leaned over her and whispered in her ear "I'm home..". That shook Ula so quickly, that she suddenly sat up and looked at the person on the other side of the bed. It was Asra. She couldn't believe with her own eyes. His white hair was wet, he seemed tired. Ula jumped to him and hugged him firmly. He chuckled and hugged her back. Ula made a relieved sigh and this time let her tears go. "Where were you?! Why weren't you answering?" she asked him smiling and cupping his face. He smirked "I'm sorry, Ula. I wasn't able to. And I was here and there.. I'm sorry, that I was gone for so long" he explained, wiping Ula's tears away. He leaned to her and gently kissed her lips. It made Ula's stress melt away. Suddenly, he broke the kiss, leaned back, undressed himself, joined her in the bed. His hand went through her chocolate locks, landing on her cheek. Their lips met once more, before Asra pulled her into his arms, into a warm hug. He not only held her close, but also soothed her arms and head, saying 'It's okay, I'm home.. You needn't worry..'. Finally, Ula fell asleep quickly, because she knew, that her beloved one was here, protecting her from the world.
