They ride down the road, watching the same familiar sights of dirt and zombies pass by every mile or so. Everyone has calmed down about what happened yesterday, trying their best to ignore the elephant in the room.
Citizen Z is in the radio as they drive into Kansas, filling the void left by their teammate.
Citizen Z talks about the death of Garnett. Warren sits in the back seat trying to get over it, covering her ears.
Addy and Mack are in front of everyone else on a motorcycle, as everyone else rides back in the truck.
They run over something and they get a flat, stopping their journey momentarily. The hood of the truck hisses and steams, forcing them to find the curb and pull to a stop. Addy and Mack pull over as well, meeting them over by the busted vehicle.
10k climbs out from the back and crawls under the truck as soon as they stop while Ace hits the top of the truck as a sort of look out.
"Radiator?" Mack asks, placing his hands on his hips.
"Yeah." Doc answers disappointed.
"Fixable?"
"Don't know." Doc says.
"Gee, if we only had a mechanic." Murphy says sarcastically as he looks at Warren who is sitting in the car with her head rested on the open window.
Ace leaps out of her spot and slaps Murphy upside the head, glaring him down as she comes to stand beside Addy and Mack.
Murphy whines and rubs the spot she hit, while finally backing off of the grieving woman.
"You got to let her deal, man. She's got that post-traumatic stress." Doc says.
The corpse man scoffs, rolling his eyes before stepping back from Ace's swinging hands. "She's got post-traumatic stress? The whole worlds got post-traumatic stress. Actually there isn't anything post about it. We all got plain ol' present tense, all traumatic, all stress all the time. What makes her so special?" Murphy says, marching towards the car before Ace can slap him again.
Ace walks over to help 10k with the car, trying to ignore how rude Murphy tends to be. She crouches down to where he is, offering him a hand while the rest of them do their thing.
Mack, Addy and Doc talk about them going to scout ahead. Mack wants to take Addy though, Doc doesn't think it's safe.
Even despite his disapproval, the pair ride off anyway and everyone else stands there dumbfounded.
They all silently ignore as Addy and Mack take off without them, leaving the rest to deal with the truck.
"I found the leak in the radiator hose. Taped it up a little bit but, we're not going anywhere unless we get some water in there." 10k says, handing Ace the roll of duck tape.
Doc pours the rest of everyone's water into the radiator hose before slamming the hood shut.
"I'll drive." 10k suggests, cutting off Doc's path to the drivers seat.
"Knock yourself out, kid." Doc says, throwing his hands up.
10k hops in the drivers seat and Doc in the passenger seat. Ace goes to climb in the bed of the truck but Doc stops her.
"No, you're sitting in the car there's room now." Doc says.
"Where?" Ace complains, crossing her arms over her chest.
With a boastful smile, Doc pats the small seat between 10k and himself. Simply ignoring the unimpressed glare he's receiving from the female.
10k stomps on the gas and they go flying forward. Ace clings onto the seat for dear life, knowing she'd easily have been tossed out of the vehicle if she was in the back.
