Ethan's POV

Getting out of my car I walk up to Mark's door and knock.

"Come on in!" I hear him call from within his house.
I open the door and enter the house to see stuff everywhere.
"You okay Mark?" I ask as I walk over to him.
He's digging through a pile of clothes on the floor.
"I need your help." He says.
"I can see that." I laugh as I begin to look around at all the clothes and garbage everywhere.
"I met this girl today," He starts.
"And she dropped her phone, but I forgot to give it back to her."

For some reason I think back to when Y/n said she lost her phone.

"I want to give it back to her but I have no idea how to get in contact with her." I laugh at his worried expression.
"What's so funny?" He asks.
"Just look through her contacts and call one of the people."

Mark then gives me a weird look before saying, "This phone doesn't have a normal passcode on it." He pulls the phone out of his pocket.
"It's voice activated."

I take a look at the phone in his hand and the first thing I notice is the f/a phone case.

That looks like the phone case that I got Y/n on Christmas last year.

"Can I take a look at the phone real quick?"
Mark nods and hands me the phone.

I click the power button and look at the lockscreen.
It's of a sign that reads h/t.

"I know who's phone this is." I tell Mark.
He gives me a weird look.
"It's my friends phone, Y/n." I look up from the phone and at Mark. He has a look of relief on his face.
"Good," He sighs.
"That means I can come with you to give it back to her."
I shake my head in disagreement.

I don't want him to know that I go to UCLA. No reason in particular, I just don't want anyone to know.

"Why not?" He questions very confused.
"I don't have time to." I lie.
"Maybe I can give it to her if I see her at all." I suggest.

I have a feeling Mark has a thing for Y/n.
He's nice to everyone but he has never gone to this extent to give back someone's things.
Normally he would go give it to someone who works at UCLA.

"No," He says as he takes the phone back from me.
"Thanks for the offer though."

I ignore the weird answer given to me.

"Is that the only reason why you called me here?"
He nods.
"So that means I can leave now?" I ask as I slowly inch my way to the front door.
"Sure, unless you want to record."
I shake my head.
"Not that I don't want to, I just promised someone special I would be back in around an hour."
I mumble the word special.
"What was that other thing?" Mark gives me a confused look.
I shake my head.
"Nothing."

He nods.
"See ya' Ethan."
I wave to Mark as I open the door.
"See ya' Mark."

Y/n's POV
Kadence and I are laughing and having fun messing around when the door opens.
My eyes begin to sparkle with hope that the person who opened the doctors Ethan.

"Guess who's back~" Ethan sings as he enters the room.
"Ethan!" I cheer as he hugs me.
"I never make plastic promises." He tells me.

The hug ends and a lightbulb appears above my head.
I grab a small box and chopsticks from the bed and hand it to Ethan.

"You never ate your food." I say to him.
Taking the food from my grasp he chuckles.
"Thanks N/n." I smile.

We then both take a seat on my bed as Ethan eats his food. I can't help but think about that guy from earlier, Mark.

He was so nice. I stare off into space. I kind of hope we run into each other again.

"Hello? Y/n?" Kadence is snapping her fingers in front of my face.
"Hmm?" I get snapped back into reality.
"I was asking you what classes and how many you have tomorrow."

I think back to when I lost my phone earlier.

"I have no idea."
They go silent and I assume they're confused.
"It was all written in my phone." I tell them.

After a moment Ethan responds.
"My first class is at 8am." He says.
"If you meet me around 7am I'll walk with you to figure out what your classes are for today."
I nod is agreement with Ethan's suggestion.
"If I'm not at the café around 7:15 then can you come and wake me up?" I ask.
"I don't have my phone so that means I don't have an alarm."
"Yeah." He responds a little after.

I smile at him as I think back to the present he gave me earlier, a bracelet that probably cost a lot.

Out of nowhere I give Ethan a huge hug.
I can tell he's taken aback a little because it takes him a minute to hug me back.

"Thanks for the amazing present." I mumble into his shoulder.
"No problem N/n."

The hug then ends when I feel Kadence tap on my shoulder.

"Don't think I forgot." She hands me something and I begin to brush my hand across it.
"What is it?" I ask.
It feels like a shirt or sweater of some sort.
"It's an Attack On Titan sweater."
I begin to smile like a maniac as I quickly put it on.
"Thank you so so so so sooooooo much Kad."
I stand up and hug the short girl.
"No problem."

The hug ends quickly and I hear a gasp come from Kadence.

"It's 9:53pm."
My eyes go wide as she says how late it is.
"We gotta go." Ethan says and we all walk over to the door.
"Bye Y/n." Kadence says and leaves.
Ethan hugs me before saying, "Goodnight N/n." And leaving also.

What a great birthday.
