I'm glad that you enjoyed the story, but this story wasn't allowed to have a happily ever after.

You all have probably read the strange and odd occurrences during this story.

Anywhere from strange dreams to the woman who puts Y/n out of her missery and takes her through that blue portal at the end.

These strange things shine a small bit of life as to why no happy ending could exist.

Sorry that this isn't a real answer but if i said the reason why, then it would ruin my future stories.

I hope this answer is somewhat satisfying.

My motivation was that I've seen multiple fanfics about a blind reader X someone and they weren't what i wanted in a story.

I write things that I would want to read.

While writing this story I have struggled with getting the motivation to write a new chapter.

The truth is that you guys are the reason I continued writing this.

As you have seen, older chapters  were remade. That was because I made them during a period where i was just writing to get stuff out. When i finally noticed that I had been doing that, I decided to redo them.

After the end of the book Mark never forgets about Y/n. He ends up basically adopting Oliver, Chance, and Hazel so that Blossom can go back to school and because James has a lot of work that he needs to travel for.

Mark does eventually end up getting a new girlfriend who he marrys. He doesnt forget about Y/n and she respects his decision to keep her things and to visit her grave quite a bit.

She understands that Mark will never stop loving Y/n, but he does love her too.

They dont have any kids of their own.

They take care of Chance, Hazel, and Oliver as their own children.

Is the woman he ends up marrying Amy? I'm not so sure, but maybe.
