Y/n's POV
The classroom door opens and closes multiple times until every student is gone.
"Aren't you leaving Y/n?" I jump slightly.
"Kadence is suppose to meet me here after her class." I tell him.
"Okay," He says. "My left class isn't for am hour, so stay as long as you need." I nod.
Picking my backpack off of the floor, I pull out a granola bar and begin to eat it when the room phone rings.
"Hello?" He answers it, duh.
".....Yes." He replies to some question.
"....Of course!" He goes silent.
"Y/n, they are asking to see you in the main building."
What? Why?
"Okay." I stand from my chair and grab my backpack, opening it once again.
I don't quiet remember where that is. So I don't want to run into anything.
I pull out my cane that I haven't used in forever. I will admit that I'm stupid for walking around without this or a dog.
Opening it up, I let it unfold in front of me. Then, I hold it at my bellybutton and slide it back and forth against the ground as I walk. When I reach the door I push it open and leave the classroom. It takes a minute for me to get use to the cane again after not using it for so long.
Soon I reach the door to the building and exit. The second I step out the doors the sun beats down on my face. There is even a slight wind that makes it even hotter. I feel the open air on my stomach and legs.
Forgot I was wearing this stupid outfit.
My cane hits something while I'm lost in thought, scaring me half to death. I jump back five feet as I hear a bit of laughter.
Did I hit a person?!
"I'm so sorry! Did I hit you?" I frantically ask.
The person continues to laugh.
"You did. But it's okay." His laughing turns into light chuckling.
"Why are you laughing?" I ask, slightly offended.
"Your reaction was the absolute best." Slowly, I also start to laugh.
"I wasn't expecting to hit anything." I tell him.
"Anyways, I'm Derek." He tells me.
"Y/n." We both go silent for a moment and then it clicks.
"Oh! Are you sticking out your hand?" I ask super embarrassed.
"Umm...yeah." He says.
"Well I'm kind of blind if you couldn't tell by the cane." I tell him.
"Oh! I'm so sorry." Derek apologizes.
"No need. Not like I have BLIND written on my forehead......I don't right?" I start to laugh again and he joins.
"See you around Y/n." He says and I hear him start to walk away.
"I won't see you!" I wave while returning to my walk to the Main Building.
On the rest of my walk I hit a few more things with my cane. By the time I reach the buildings door I'm tried.
"That was a lot of work." I mumble to myself while putting my cane away and pushing open the door.
"Of memory serves me right then the place I'm looking for is right down here." I continue to walk forward when I start to hear talking.
"Y/n!" A familiar voice calls to me.
"Mark?" I ask, confuses on why he would be here.
"That's me." He chuckles.
His laugh is so deep.
"What are you doing here?" I hear a sound that is like a clap...maybe it's a slap.
"Oh yeah! The day we met you dropped your phone. I've been forgetting to give it back to you." My eyes go wide before turning into a smile.
"Thank you so much!" I reach out my hand and he drops it into it.
"I was just thinking about buying a new one."
I hit the power button and accidentally graze my finger over an app.
"Twitter." Siri says really fast.
"What was that?" Mark asks.
"Umm.....I'm not sure." I lie.
"That is your phone, right?" I nod my head.
"Yeah." I tell him.
"Ah Y/n!" A man says my name in a tone that is clearly fake excitement.
"What a coincidence! I was just about to walk over to your dorm."
Anger fulls my body.
"Why is that?" I ask through gritted teeth.
"To see if you've started to pack yet." He says.
"I'm starting later." I growl.
"Well you better hurry because I told those girls you would be pack and out two days from now."
I keep myself from showing how shocked I am.
"I'll be out by then." I say.
"You better." He tells me before I hear him walk away.
"I hate that guy." I mumble, thinking I'm alone.
"Not to be rude or nosey, but who's that guy?" I jump.
I completely forgot Mark was even here.
His voice sounded so polite and angry at the same time.
"The guy who runs this place." I tell him.
"I just can't believe this is happening." I sigh, sitting on the more than likely dirty floor.
"What's going on?" He asks.
Silence.
"It's okay if you don't want to tell me." I feel him sit next to me.
"No, it's probably better that I talk to someone other than my friends about this. To get another opinion, y'know."
I take a deep breath.
"I'm getting kicked out of my dorm. I'm-" I pause.
"I have a....medical condition that causes me to need a dorm room to myself." I say.
"That's not right." He comments.
"They have two girls enrolling, so I have to give them my room. I don't know where I'm gonna go." A tear rolls down my cheek.
DON'T CRY YOU IDIOT!
"You can't stay with one of your friends?" He questions.
I shake my head 'no'.
"I only have one friend who has their own place, but j don't want to invade on the small space that he does have." I say.
We both go quiet.
"I know we just met not too long ago, but I would hate to see you with nowhere to go."
I wait to hear where he's going with this.
"So if you want to you can stay at my place."
I shake my head as I wipe away the few years that have fallen.
"I couldn't invade in your personal space like that." I tell him.
"You won't be." He assures me.
"My house is pretty big and I have a guest room you can have."
I smile.
"I'll think about it."
