Y/n's POV

The rest of class Ethan seemed to be very quiet.
Him and I normally are goofing off in-between paying attention, but today there isn't anything really going on and he's not saying anything.

Did I do something wrong?
Is it about yesterday?
I hope he's just focused on something and not mad at me.

"Ethan." I quietly whisper.
He doesn't respond.
"Ethan." I repeat.
"What?" He whispers back a bit aggressively.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." I mumble.
"Sorry." He apologies.
"I....I've just got a lot on my mind."
I nod.
"I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch together."
He stays quiet for a moment.
"We always do, so yeah."
I smile and turn back to the laptop in front of me.
"Good." I remind and continue to work on the simple task that the Professor had given to us.

"Alright." The sudden sound of the Professor speaking makes me jump a small bit.
"Hand in your work and then you can go."
I hold a certain two buttons down that automatically hand in an assignment for me and pull out my earbuds.
I hear Ethan get up along with the other students so he can hand in his physical paper.
"Ready to go?" He asks.
"Yup!"
I stand up and pull my cane out of my bag before throwing it over my shoulder.
"Away we go to meet Kadence!"

He slightly laughs and we head out the building and toward the dance building.
"Where do you want to go for lunch?" I ask.
Ethan hums in thought.
"How about we just go to the cafe on the other side of the quad?" He suggests.
"I'm down." I reply.
Our conversation then goes stale as we walk the rest of the way to meet up with Kad.

Ethan's POV

So many things run through my head as we walk to the dance building.

What if Mark has already confessed to her and they're a thing?
No, they're still practically strangers and Y/n would have told me.

We finally reach the dance building and the dance instructor scoffs as he sees us approach.
"She isn't here." He says as we come to a halt.
"What do you mean?" Y/n asks.
"She got angry in the middle of practice and stormed out. Not before pushing her partner to the ground though."
My eyes widen.
"What?" Confusion takes over.
"Did her partner say what made her so angry?" I question.
He shakes his head.
"No, her partner said that she was angry and snapped when she asked what was wrong."
I nod.

What the hell did you do this time Kad?

"It takes quite a bit to make her mad." Y/n points out.
"Well she was angry from the moment she got here, til the moment she walked out."
Y/n raises an eyebrow.
"She was angry before she even got here?"
"Mmmhmm." The man then walks down the steps of the building.
"Now if you would excuse me, I have some places to be."
I roll my eyes as the man sassily walks away from us.
"Well..." She trails off.
"Looks like we're going Kad hunting." I say.
Y/n chuckles.
"This isn't funny!" She lightly punches my shoulder.
"Your the one who laughed!" I exclaim.
"But you're the one who made me laugh." She says.
"Let's just get going before she starts to paint the quad red."
I say.
Y/n giggles a bit and starts to walk away.
I chuckle slightly and jog to catch up with her.

Maybe there still is hope.

Kadence's POV

When I left I had ran all the way back to my dorm room.
My roommate yelled at me when I slammed the door shut.
"Shut up! You're cheating on your boyfriend!"
I then head to my room and slam that door too.
I can hear her and her boyfriend fighting because of what I said now.
I shrug and throw my bag onto the ground.
"I should have went somewhere else because I can't stand these people." I say to myself.
I pick my wallet off the table and shove it into my pocket.
Then, I open up the window and hop out and head off campus to...somewhere.
I just start walking and walking, not even paying attention to where I'm even heading.
Before I know it, I'm at the Chinese place Ethan, Y/n, and I always go to.
I sigh and enter the small restaurant because, why not?
"Hey Kadence!" Nathan waves to me as I enter.
"Where's the rest of your gang? Where's Y/n?" He asks.
I roll my eyes.
"In class still." I tell him.
"Well I'm going on breaking a minute, so maybe we could eat together."
I think for a moment.

This guy normally tries to get with everyone, but he seems different today.

"Alright." I reply.
He smiles and runs into the kitchen, probably to get our orders started.
I contemplate all my life choices as I find an open table to sit at.
After I find an open booth, I take a seat and pull at my hair.

What am I doing here?

"Kad?"
Nathan's voice pulls me put of my thoughts.
"Hmm?" I hum.
"I got our food." He says, holding up a tray with food and two drinks on it.
I politely smile and thank him.
He waves it off and sits down, setting the tray on the table.
"So what's going on with you?" He asks.
I shake my head.
"Nothing." I say.
"I know something's wrong." He pushes.
"I....Y/n made me angry a few days ago and I'm still mad about it." I tell him.
He nods.
"What did she do?" He asks.
"She has been leading on Ethan for all this time and suddenly she's interested in some guy she met not too long ago!" I let out all my anger.
"Oh..." Nathan trails off.
"Why don't we go back to my place?"
I raise my eyebrow.
"Why?" I ask.
"So we continue on with this...conversation."
I think for a second and then agree.
"What about the rest of your shift though?" I question.
Nathan chuckles.
"My boss would understand."
He then gets up and heads behind the counter.
As he walks out of sight, I could have sworn I spotted a smirk on his face.
