A WEEK AFTER THE EVENTS OF motel California, Eleanor still had trouble sleeping. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she had nearly ended her own life - she was so close to being dead.

It was something that she didn't want to speak about either. Stiles had tried to get her to open up about it but she refused to surrender her thoughts - she didn't want to relive that night and she didn't want to burden him with what she was feeling.

As well as that, she was also doing anything in her power to stay away from Derek. He had betrayed her trust; although she were utmost relieved to find that he was alive and well, he had lead her to believe that he was dead. He sought the help of Jennifer instead of telling his own family that he were alive.

Thinking about it, Derek keeping this from her had almost cost Eleanor her life. As much as she wanted to just be happy he wasn't dead like Ennis was, she couldn't bring herself to forgive her brother just yet.

Which explained why she had accompanied Scott every night at 12:00am throughout the week to deliver Melissa her dinner. Scott didn't ask questions, he knew that she needed time, and spending time with her best friend was something that Eleanor was fond of.

Scott and Eleanor made their way through the automatic doors at the front of the hospital building, their eyes wandering the packed halls and agonised patients with confused expressions. Why was it so busy?

They spotted Melissa in between all the chaos, settling patients into the waiting room seats as she ran a hand through her frazzled locks of hair. Upon turning around, her shoulders unwound and she let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh my god, thank god! I'm starved." She immediately took the bag of contained food, putting it on the receptionist desk.

Scott raised an eyebrow at his mother and as she turned around, her eyes widened. Instantly, she took both her son and Eleanor into her arms. "I'm sorry! Thank you for bringing me dinner."

Eleanor eyed the halls again. "Is everything okay?"

"Except from half of the accident victims from the ten car pile up down town and the ER attending not answering any of his pages? Yeah, I'm fine."

Eleanor grimaced in sympathy as Scott furrowed his eyebrow, clueless as to what his mother had just said.

"What does 'not answering pages' mean?"

Melissa looked at her son and then at the surrounding patients that had yet to be seen. "It means that nobody can find him, so we have to wait for the on call to get here."
