Chapter 43, The Preliminaries

(Wayra's POV)
    Just then, Daniel appeared.

"About time!" Gajeel said.

"Where the hell have you been?" Natsu said. "Cristlina just passed out for some reason."

"What," he said turning to me. "You okay?"

"Yeah," I replied. "Natsu caught me before I hit the floor."

"That's good," he said. "Listen guys, I'm sorry about what I said. I'm not really feeling like myself right now."

"It's alright," Lavander said. "Can I talk to the both of you real quick? In private."

We walk to Daniel and Lavander's room, then he closes the door.

"What's really happening?" She asks.

"It started," Daniel said, "From now on, we'll be turning slowly day by day."

"We don't know what causes it," I said, "But if this keeps happening, we'll both be evil by the end of the week."

    I then shake my head roughly.

"No." I say. "No, I refuse, I'm not going to let myself be influenced by our connection! Daniel is the one that has the seed inside him, I need to stay sane to I can get him out of it!"

I knead my hands into my hair, like a stressed person would do.

"Wayra, calm down." Lavender says.

"I am calm!" I shout before scoffing at myself. "Great. Now I'm like those screaming sassy girls. I'm sorry!" I apologize.

    "Don't worry about it," Lavander said. "I use to be like that before I met Daniel."

"Wayra is right though," Daniel said. "I am the one with the seed inside of me. Even though we are connected, she needs to be able to get me out of this."

"So," I ask. "What do we do? It's not like we should stop using our magic."

"True," Daniel said, "The Games start tomorrow, but knowing them they have some sort of preliminary round tonight to get the top eight so we won't have hundreds of guilds fighting each other."

"Meaning," Lavander said. "That you have to use your magic in order to get past the lame guilds light Twilight Ogre."

    "So we have to pass the preliminary rounds using our magic?" I sigh. "I really need to try to disconnect from the seed... River and Jaxon have not yet been wrong, so I really need to try my best, and I can't do that if I'm screaming like a plastic or trying to kill someone! I got more flashbacks of this world too. A long time ago when The Grand Magic Games happened and that freaky fire hair lady cheated when fighting Lucy."

    "Oh," Natsu said, "You must be talking about Flaire!"

"Whoah, when did you get here?" I ask, surprised.

"Just now," Natsu answers.

"She's not all that bad," Daniel said. "She was raised by Giants, so she used to be the smallest out of everyone. Ivan Dryer was the only one who gave her a home when she came to Hargeon."

"We've actually met her a couple of times," Lavander said, "She's a great person. We should get some rest, it's starting to get dark."

We all agree, then head to bed. At first I was worried about sleeping, I didn't want to have another problem that we have to deal with! Once I closed my eyes, River and Jaxon didn't contact me. All of a sudden, the hotel started to shake. I opened to door adjacent to Daniel's room.

"What's happening?" I ask.

"The hotel's being teleported," Daniel said.

"What?" Natsu yells, "Oh no...I think I'm gonna..."
