Chapter 37: Beating Heart.

Charlie's POV

I looked at Shannon and Alyanna as they stood there, eyes wide open.

"You know, Shannon's eyes are bigger than Alyanna's.." I said.

"What are you doing here?" Shannon asked rudely.

"Would you let me in?" I asked.

"Well, maybe we--"

Alyanna cut her off. "Its okay, I'll talk to him." She said to Shannon as she touched her shoulder.

"Okay, if you need back up, don't hesitate to call us." She said as she glared at me and walked away.

"Wow.. never thought she could scare me.." I said as I sighed.

Alyanna closed the door behind her and she told me that we can talk to the garden back around the house.

When we got there, we sat on a bench and silence filled the room.

After a few minutes, I started to talk..

"The garden looks beautiful..."

What did I say?

"Well, Shannon likes flowers so she and her mom built a garden." She said as she smiled at the flowers.

"Great. Hey, can I ask you something?" I said.

"What?" She said as she played with her feet.

"Did... you.... forgive me about what I said to you before?" I asked.

She shook her head no.

"Oh, why not?" I asked worriedly.

"I really don't have anything to say to you.." She seriously said.

"I'm sorry.. I didn't mean it." I said as I looked down.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you didn't!" She said sarcastically.

I just sat there, real quiet and freaking embarassed.

"How's your knee?" I looked at her.

"Its hurts. A lot.." She glared at me.

"I know you're mad and I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to do that.." I said nervously.

"But Its okay, Charlie.. I just really wanna forget about that.." She smiled.

Why is she smiling?! Maybe this is one of her tricks?

"Great.. Listen, I came here to tell you something." I said as I moved closer to her.

She slowly stand up and walked through the flowers.

"What is it?" She said as she touched the red roses.

I stand up as I walked and stand beside her and looked into the side of her face.

"I wanna apologize for the incident that happened earlier. You wouldn't fall if I didn't stretch my leg. I was wrong.." I said seriously as I looked at her.

"And I wish you could accept my apology." I add.

She smelled the roses as she closed her eyes and exhaled softly then she looked at me.

"Are you okay?" She chuckled.

"Huh?" I said.

"It was just a little creppy when you said that. It was like.. you weren't a weird boy for a while." She said as she giggled.

I miss that cute giggle! Did I just say 'cute'? Oh well..

"You know what's even weirder? The fight that we're gonna have." I said as I smirked and she started to run around and I chased her.

Then my heart started to beat faster, maybe it was just because I was chasing her and when I caught her, I wrapped my arms around her waist as we spun around.

"Put me down!" She said as she laughed.

I placed her down gently and we end up looking at each other. Just staring..

My heart started beating faster and faster. That's really crazy.

"That was fun." She said as she moved back but she slipped on the hose behind her then when she was about to fall, I caught her with my right arm and pulled her to me as she put her hand to my chest.

"That.... was close..." I said as I looked at her blue eyes.

"Yeah." She said nervously.

Then I felt my face getting closer to her... Then she suddenly step back and I let go of her waist.

"I should go.. They're probably waiting for me inside.." She said as she brushed her hair behind her ear.

"Yeah. Okay. I'm sorry again." I said as I made my last look at her and went away.

What happened to me? Do I like... Alyanna? Nah.

But why did my heart pound like it was going to explode? I need help..

I was walking home until..

"OW!!" I fell to the floor as somebody bumped me.

"Charlie! What's up?" I looked up as I saw Logan, offering me a hand.

But I stand up on my own.

"Next time, try to look where you're going, Mr. Far-sighted person!" I said mockingly.

"Whoa! What happened to you?" He asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"See, you're blushin!" He said as he laughed.

"Did you saw Sam?" He added.

"I need to go home." I said as I walked away.

"Maybe you're in love!!" He shouted as I turn to my shoulder slightly as I saw him, walking away.

In love?! No way am I inlove with Alyanna! What happened was an accident. That move was stupid of me to even do..
