As Ms. Rodriguez discuss about what's gonna happened in the upcoming play and the characters and the rehearsals in class..

I just can't help but replay over and over what Charlie said earlier..

"The guy apologized to this girl several times but the girl never seems to forgive the guy and now... They're enemies." I repeated that thought over and over again in my head. I sighed and listened to Ms. Rodriguez now..

"Now you may proceed, class." Ms. Rodriguez said as she sat on her desk.

Then all of a sudden, my classmates stood up and like, started partnering. I just followed them and I don't even know what to do, thanks to my thought. Then I saw Belle.

"Belle, can we be partners?" I said hopefully.

"We can't be partners!" She said as she laughed at me.

"Oh." I said as I frowned.

"Cause the partners are supposed to be a boy and a girl. My partner is Jason. Didn't you listen to Ms. Rodriguez?" She finished her sentence.

"I didn't, I was... zoned out." I said as I pouted.

"Well, you find a guy to be your partner cause Ms. Rodriguez is timing us and later, she's gonna give us a worksheet..."

"What kind of worksheet, Belle?"

"I don't know."

Oh, great! But the only guy I know is Charlie and Jason. Im not really good at talking to boys, I get literally nervous.. Then when I turned around, I bumped Charlie. Why does it that everytime I turned around, I always get bumped to this guy?! I don't--

I was interrupted with my thoughts when Ms. Rodriguez shouted "Time's up!"

Great, I have no partner!

Then I suddenly went to the corner in the classroom. Luckily, I saw Jason.

"What are you doing there?" He whispered to me.

"Well, I don't have a partner. Might as well get a zero." I mumbled as I looked down.

"Wow! Alyanna Lightning wants to get zero in English for the first time!" He said mockingly.

"Well, I don't have a partner.." I said sadly.

"I think Charlie doesn't have any.... yet." He said as he pointed at Charlie, who's flirting with girls.

"I think he's enjoying himself there." I said sarcastically.

"Do you like Charlie?" He suddenly said.

"Are you out of your mind?" I chuckled.

"Trust me, I won't tell. Just tell me you like him.."

"I would but I don't.." I said.

"Denial." He said happily.

"What?"

He suddenly walked towards Belle, leaving me clueless.

"Hey." I turned as I saw the garden girl.

"Hi." I mumbled.

"Are you like mad at me?" She asked.

Should I say that I am or lie?

"No, I'm just mad at Charlie." I fake smiled her.

"Why?" She asked.

"Cause he didn't told me you guys are going out." I said.

"Me and Charlie? We're not going out.." She blurted.

"Really? But why did you kiss his neck?"

"Oh, he threaten me that if I didn't, he'll do something to me." She said.

So that stinkin' Liverwood lied! Oh, he's gonna pay but not today.

"Thanks for telling me that. I think I feel better now." I sigh.

"Are you guys dating?" She asked.

"Me? Date the weirdo? No way that's happening!" I said.

"Weirdo?" She said.

"Oh, that's what I call him."

"Why?"

"Cause it suits his personality. Like now, isn't it weird that he suddenly wears black and hits on girls?" I said.

"Yeah, that is sorta weird."

"He's a weird and mysterious kid sometimes." I said,

"You guys are close?"

"I'm guessing your new here?" I said.

"Yeah, but I'm already making adjustments on my own."

"Thats good." I said.

"What's your name, by the way?" I asked.

"Its Sam Billimore." She said as she offered a handshake. I gladly accept it.

"You probably know me so no need." I said.

"Actually, I don't."

Whoa.

"My name's Alyanna Lightning." I smiled.

"Oh, hey. I gotta go. It was nice talking to you." She walked towards her friends as they chat who-knows-what.

The students went to the corner of the classroom.

"Hey, Shay." I whispered as I tap her shoulder.

"Hey, where's your partner?" She asked quietly.

"He's invisible." I said.

"You mean, you don't have one?" She react.

"Nope, but its okay."

Its not really okay. Why do I keep pretending?!

"Well what are you gonna do?" She asked.

"I don't know."

Ms. Rodriguez started to explain the purpose of the worksheet.
