Twenty Two

I woke up today feeling oddly energetic, and I figured that means it would be a good day to go to the gym. I got up, putting my hair into a ponytail, and changing into my work out clothes. After that, i filled my water bottle with water and grabbed my phone and headphones off the counter.

I scribbled a quick sticky note and stuck it on the fridge for Hannah and left. It was surprisingly really nice outside, which wasn't too surprising. I got in my car and drove to the gym.

I made my way inside and stopped at the front desk to sign in.

"You've been coming a lot, Skylar, are you sure you don't want a membership?" The owner, who's name was Hazel, smiled at me.

"Sadly, I don't think so." I smiled, signing my name on the sheet.

"Alright, lady, have a good workout." Hazel winked at me as i walked into the main part of the gym. Hazel was always so nice to me, and she loved seeing younger people coming to the gym.

I started untangling my headphones from my phone when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Cory, from the store i went to a couple days ago.

"Hi Cory." I smiled shyly.

He smiled back. "Hey. I didn't know you'd be here today."

I shrugged. "I felt pretty energized, i guess."

He nodded. "Fun, fun."

I nodded back. We stood there in the awkward silence.

"So, what are you planning on listening to?" He pointed to my headphones.

"Just some Red Hot Chilli Peppers, that's what I usually listen to when i work out."

"Oh sweet, which album?" He turned to me.

"Stadium Arcadium, I listened to By The Way last time, so i figured I would switch it up." I shrugged.

"Their newer album is pretty good, have you heard it?"

I shook my head. "I've been meaning to, but i haven't really gotten a chance."

"Definatly check it out, it's one of my favorites." He smiled.

"I will, don't worry." I smiled back.

"Well, I'm going to go lift weights with some of my friends. See you later?" He started walking towards the weights.

"Sure thing." I waved, sticking my headphones into my ears and getting onto the treadmill in front of me. I looked over to Cory, who was looking at me. I smiled and he smiled back, before he turned his attention to his friend.

Well, that happened.

After running on the treadmill, i decided to go home. I waved a quick goodbye to Cory and said goodbye to Hazel, then went to my car. I was sweating a little, which is pretty typical if you go to a gym. I debated if i wanted to go home, but ended up deciding to go see Luke.

I pulled up to his house and went to the front door. I knocked a few times before he opened the door.

"Wow." He said quietly, looking me up and down.

"What?" I looked down at myself."

"You're, like, sweaty." He said, looking back up into my eyes.

"Is that a bad thing?" I frowned, stepping inside.

"No, it's not. If anything it's, like, attractive." He said. I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Oh."

He chuckled slgihtly. "Was the gym nice?"

"Yeah, it was. There was this guy there that I met when i went shopping. Turns out he likes the same music as me." I said, setting my phone down on the couch.

"Really?" Luke said, slightly tense. Oh god.

"Yeah, but that's not important." I said ,trying to change the subject.

He shook his head. "It's kind of important."

"Not really." I shrugged.

"Do you find him attractive?" He looked at me.

"I don't know, i barely know him."

"You don't need to know someone to know if they're attractive or not." Luke stepped closer.

"I try to focus on personality." I said, almost backing up against the wall.

"But he was still attractive, right?" Luke stepped even closer until i was against the wall.

I shrugged. "Sure ,if that's what you want me to say."

He leaned down and pressed his lips to the side of my mouth before moving them straight to my lips. He kissed me hard, moving his hands to my lower back. I moved mine up to his chest as he continued to kiss me harder.

"Luke," I whispered in between kisses.

"Hmm?" He mumbled.

"Why does it matter?" I moved his head away slightly.

He shrugged. "Because I want you to be all mine." Before i knew it, our lips were locked again.
