Lay's Secret

Nothing significant happened for around nine months. Eventually, Kat's birthday came and went, allowing all of Exo to go to 18+ places together. But they didn't. Because they're innocent 😅.

School was easy and boring. Kat had been appointed 'Queen' and Exo 'Kings'. She felt like she was in a reality show or something, with many people hanging on her every word.

The project they had been assigned earlier went perfectly, because Mr.Bob couldn't critique Chen's singing. Eventually, Yoon Ji also got over D.O, so Kat and D.O slowly broke up. It wasn't an official breakup, everyone could just tell.

The Exo members still subtly fought over Kat, but not as noticeably anymore. They fought amongst themselves. Exo had many concerts which Kat helped coordinate. They were gaining fame really fast.

And now, once again, they were all randomly sitting in the living room, bored. It was the day before Chinese (and Korean) New Year, so they had couple days off.

"눈치게임 1!", Chanyeol yelled. (눈치게임 is a game where the first person calls out 1, and someone else has to call out 2 and not say it with anyone else. If they do, they're out. If no one gets caught at 2, then it goes on till someone gets out, or the last person.)

"5", both Kat and Lay called at the same time. "Dang it!"

"You guys go get snacks and drinks", Chanyeol told them lazily.

"Ok."

They found out what everyone wanted and walked outside. Kat was glad that it was getting warmer. She hated the cold.

"Uh how's life.", Lay started the conversation lamely.

"Bored I guess. What bout you?"

"Same." Even though they had been living together for almost half a year, talking was still awkward sometimes.

"You know what I'm craving right now?"

"짜장면?(black bean noodles)"

"No"

"Uh... pizza?"

"Nope."

"I give up. What?"

"Chicken. Some good delivered chicken."

"Mmm yesssss", Kat sighed wistfully. "Boneless 양념 (sweet and spicy) chicken."

"We'll bring some on the way back. I'm pretty sure the guys can finish about one whole chicken each."

Before long, the conversation died again.

"Tell me about yourself.", Lay requested.

"Umm...ok. I was born on July 7th, 2000. I had the best childhood ever. There was so much to explore at the place we lived. Since my two busy parents were and still are busy, I was living at my grandparents place for a while. I'm gonna go visit them tomorrow."

"I can go with you", Lay offered abruptly.

Kat was slightly taken aback. "Are you sure? Shouldn't you like, go visit your family in China like Luhan, Tao, and Kris are?"

Lay shook his head. "I insist. I can FaceTime my parents and wish them a happy new year. I wasn't planning to go, anyway."

"If you're sure, then it's completely fine with me!"
