THIS WAS THE fifth time Peter had stood you up. First it was the excuse that he had to attend a meeting with Tony Stark, then it was the casual excuse of studying for the decathlon, even though everyone knew he was one of the smartest kids in Queens. You wanted to keep waiting for him, but the more he stood you up, the harder the realization hit you.

Running through the rain, your backpack was held above your head, shielding you from the rain. Groaning, you cursed your morning thoughts; your past self making the decision of parking your car far away from Midtown.

You would have just missed the downpour if you hadn't waited an extra fifteen minutes for Peter. But you waited, and waited, until you received a text from your boyfriend.

I'm so sorry, y/n. I totally forgot to tell you that I had detention today 🙁 I'll make it up to you, I promise.

You
It's fine. Just another raincheck for the fifth time. I'll talk to you later.

Peter was surprised to see an emotionless reply from you, knowing that you almost always sent some kind of emoji to him. Though, he never saw his excuses as a problem until now, and he knew that he needed to tell you the truth. He realized he messed up, really bad.

You couldn't tell if there were tears running down your cheeks or if it was plainly just the rain from the sky, but as soon as you made it into your family's apartment, you were greeted with warm air and the scent of dinner. A smile formed on your face when you saw your siblings sitting on the floor, playing one of the board games they had gotten over summer.

You snapped out of thought when your mother walked through the kitchen door, a confused look on her face.

"Aren't you supposed to be with Peter right now dear?"

"He took a raincheck, again, so I just figured I'd hang out with you guys tonight," You gloomily smiled, looking over at your siblings. "And maybe see if we can do something fun this weekend."

Peter 💓
I cannot tell you how sorry I am love.. I forgot about our plans and I got wrapped up in homework...
