   Y/N'S POV

After a long day of hanging out with Shuri and Ramonda, T'Challa's mother, I decided to get some rest. I looked outside and noticed it was a lot darker than usual. That only meant a storm was ahead for the night.
I immediately stepped away from any windows and climbed into my bed. I wrapped the covers around myself and looked up at the ceiling, thinking of anything that could help me possibly get some sleep.

At the very moment I felt myself about to go to sleep, I heard the sound of thunder. It startled me and I couldn't close my eyes. I had a fear of thunderstorms and I would get my boyfriend, T'Challa, but I was too afraid he would think I was a baby.
The thunder continued and I heard the raindrops hitting against the glass. I put the covers over my head and moved around.

A few minutes later, I just sat up and held on tightly to the covers. Tears formed in my eyes and I probably looked so stupid right now.
Someone knocked on my door and I slowly got up. I walked over to my door and opened it, only for it to be T'Challa standing in front of me.

T'Challa kissed my cheek and said,"Hi, Y/N. I just wanted to wish you good night. Mother told me you were asleep already, but I'm glad to see you were able to see me."

I sent T'Challa small smile, while I held back tears. T'Challa noticed I wasn't talking to him very much and he cupped my face.

He looked me in the eyes and asked me,"My Queen, what's wrong?"

I wasn't even queen yet and T'Challa and I weren't even married, but it was a habit of his to call me his queen. It did help when I felt insecure.

I let my tears fall and I admitted to T'Challa,"I..I'm scared."

T'Challa walked in my room and closed to the door, before he asked me,"Scared of what, my love?"

I said,"Of thunderstorms. I..I can't sleep. Can you stay with me?"

T'Challa nodded and said,"Of course, Y/N. It's okay to be afraid of something like that. We are all afraid of something."

I nodded and T'Challa carried me over to my bed, then he laid down with me. He wrapped the covers around us both and I leaned on his chest.
T'Challa rubbed my back and I flinched at the thunder causing the whole room to shake.

  I softly said,"T'Challa?"

T'Challa looked down at me and kissed my forehead saying,"Y/N, don't..You don't need to apologize for anything. I'm here for you and I'm not leaving. You need someone to stay here with you and I will do it. I will..Now, what did you have in mind for the future?"

T'Challa wiped my face and I said,"I figured you would want a family, so we would prepare for that and come up with a future for our children to strive towards. Early today, your mother had me trying on..wedding dresses."

T'Challa chuckled and smiled down at me saying,"I'm glad she did, because I told her to."

My face became written with confusion and T'Challa said,"Yes, you heard me correctly, my queen. I wasn't planning on asking you anytime soon, but-"

  I said,"Why not? I'm right here."

T'Challa said,"You know what I mean, Y/N. We still have to prepare for Wakanda being more open with the world. That takes time and I don't want to get so caught up in that that I abandon you. You do understand, don't you?"

I nodded and T'Challa kissed me, then he held me against his chest.
I looked up at him and I did not flinch when the thunder hit another tine.

T'Challa looked impressed, but I said to him,"When you do ask me to marry you, don't do something lame. I'll say no, if you do."

T'Challa laughed and said,"You're going to say yes, regardless of what I do. Y/N, I know you.."

T'Challa was right. If he asked me right now, I would say "yes" without hesitation. I respected his judgement call on waiting for marriage because of everything that did and will happen.
As T'Challa and I talked, I became less and less afraid of the thunderstorm. I think it was because it felt like it had passed the minute T'Challa communicated with me. Comforted me. Comfort could go a long way, even when something seemed impossible to conquer.
