I was about to head to the cafe to get my daily dose of coffee, but I saw Brandon sitting at one of the tables. It seemed like he was searching for something, and the pit of my stomach told me that he was searching for me.

I backtracked. "Dang it," I muttered under my breath because I was really craving coffee, but it's also been the first time I've seen him since I kissed him. I have managed to successfully avoid him for a couple of days, and I was not going to ruin that streak now.

I slowly and quietly walked backward, being awfully careful because it totally made sense for me to be scared of him hearing and noticing me from all the way inside the shop.

My phone suddenly rang, and I was glad I was far enough away from the shop. It was Austin calling me, so I picked up.

"Hello?" I questioned.

"Did you talk to Brandon yet?" He asked.

I paused. "You knew?" I accused him.

He sighed. "Of course I knew."

"And you didn't tell me?" I asked, feeling slightly betrayed.

"Uh, no?" He questioned. "Eliana, it's been days. You're going to have to talk to him sooner or later."

"I choose later," I replied stubbornly.

"He just wants to talk to you." I think Austin is rolling his eyes at me.

"Austin, I really don' feel like getting rejected again." He's about to say something else, but I add on. "You know what he's going to say, right?" Austin doesn't answer, but I assume that he's nodding. "Do you think it's something I'd like to hear?" It's silent on the other side of the phone, again, which I confirm my beliefs again.

"I just need to find a way to get over it, to get over him, and I'll be fine. I'll talk to him then," I told him.

Austin is quite for a while before he speaks again. "I am really sorry, Eliana."

"Not your fault. I should have known better to fall for him."

"I-" He starts, but I think he decides against it, because he says this instead, "Talk to you soon. Don't leave me out of the loop."

I know he's only saying that because, in my attempt to avoid Brandon, I've been indirectly avoiding the other boys as well. I somehow managed to convince Terry that I'm sick whenever she asks me to meet with the boys. I went on this long, long rant about how me being sick can cause the boys to be sick, which means they can't perform or record their songs without feeling tired and sounding out of tune. It brought me some time for now.
