I open my eyes. I see Brandon sitting on a chair in the corner of my room. He was writing something on a piece of paper. I must be dreaming because what was he doing in my room?

I close my eyes again. I was still tired. I've only been home for a few days, and I still can't walk.

"You're not dreaming," Brandon's deep voice said.

My eyes flew open. "Brandon?" I asked, squinting my eyes at my figure to make sure that my eyes aren't fooling me.

From my blurry vision, I saw Brandon. He hastily put the piece of paper in his pocket and stood up. He walked towards me. "hey, baby girl," he said in a tone so soft and charming that it took my breath away.

"What are you doing here?" I asked breathlessly.

"It's time for our next adventure," he answered with a smooth smile.

I pulled my blanket tighter around me. "Brandon, what are you talking about?" I asked tiredly. "I can't walk," I emphasized.

"That shouldn't stop you," he said.

"Hate to break it to you, but I don't think I'd be a fun company in this state," I said, pointing to my legs.

"Don't doubt me. I have it all planned out," he said, gently removing my blanket from my body.

"Why?" I asked, and I didn't miss the way he tensed up a bit. "Why not wait until I'm better."

"Because that could take at least a month, and I want to go on an adventure now," he said with a slight pout.

And how could I possibly refuse him when he has a face like that?

"Fine," I sighed, but I had a hint of a smile on my face. "Let me just get ready." I swung my legs over the bed. I guess it was too much because I stumbled as I stood up.

Brandon immediately wrapped his arms around me. I immediately flushed bright red. I let go of him and stepped back almost instantly.

"Thanks," I whispered.

He gave me a curt nod and gave me my crutches.

"Just wear something casual," he said. "Either way, you'll look great."

My back was turned away from him. I was grateful that he couldn't see my blush. I bit my lip. "Got it," I whispered under my breath. I don't think he heard me, but it didn't matter anyway.

I got my stuff and went to the bathroom. I was relieved that my heart was beating crazily out of my chest. I still got some jittery feelings, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. I was positive that I could get over him any time now.
