There is no coming to consciousness without pain. But as his eyes flutter open slowly, he feels nothing, he feels numb.
Only this voidness that now replaced his heart, because after reliving the most agonizing memories of his life and after doing and saying things to the people he cared about with no control whatsoever, he just felt numb. The pain too big for his body to handle and so it explodes and he feels hollow inside.
And as he opens his eyes fully and starts taking in his surroundings, for what felt like the first time, the brunette walks into the room. She's yet to realise that he had waken up while he watches her move and remembers how much he hurt her.
"Leo..." he breathes out without even realising that he voiced his thoughts.
Startled, she looks up to meet his eyes. And she's stuck in her spot for a moment or two before she finally snaps back to reality and is making her way towards the bed.
"You're awake-!"
"Don't come closer, please...I don't know if it's completely gone" he lifts up a hand to stop her and it brings her to an abrupt halt.
The feeling of his hand wrapped tightly around her neck imidiatelly making her flinch and he notices. Moving his gaze away, he refuses to look at her.
She's about to say something when Blaze walks into the room, coming to a stop on realising that the brown eyed boy was awake. And soon enough almost everyone else was in the room as well. He couldn't look at the brunette nor the redhead, he felt ashamed that he couldn't control whatever took over him.
"We need to get him to a hospital" Rhea is first to break the silence.
"And tell them what exactly? That by some magic force he wasn't in control of his body and mind and we had to give him some 'cure' to potentially either kill or save him? No" Leona shakes her head at the idea, wearing a bewildered look.
"Or we could just take him to a family friend, who's a great doctor, and just check if everything is normal...especially his brain activity" James says with a casual shrug.
Leona is about to say something to that, when for the first time since everyone entered the room, Dylan finally speaks.
"I feel fine, physical wise and I feel like I'm in control of myself again. Whatever you injected in me, must've reversed whatever...thing that took control of me"
Shifting her gaze from him, it lands on the blue eyed boy that was standing across from her with his arms crossed over his chest. They both share a look and she wasn't sure if he was really cured.
.
"Hey..."
Feeling his touch on her, she can't hold back the flinch and it all but deepens the frown etched on his face. The others had already left the room, she heard that someone was out to get them all coffee, but she wasn't sure who. She took it upon herself to stay behind though, to make sure that he was really acting like himself.
"About what happened..."
"I get it, it wasn't your fault, no one's blaming you" she says with a little shake of her head.
"I need you to know that I didn't mean what I said and did...I would never hurt you, you know that, right?"
"Yeah"
She says with a slight nod, her arms crossed in a protective manner while she refused to meet his gaze. Placing a finger under her chin, he lifts her head so that she finally looks into his eyes. And all she sees is the image of him begging her not to hurt him, the agony that laced his voice as she did what she had to do.
