"Fine then, I'll happily tell them myself. I'll tell them about how you betrayed the only people that took you in, cared enough to give you a home. Yet after all that, you betrayed them...and killed him, you killed Alexei"
.
"What?...Parker, what's he talking about?"
And it was Ivana that broke the awfully long silence. Her voice breaking with uncertainty and grief at the remembrance of her lost lover. She wasn't sure what she was feeling as she looked at Parker, who couldn't meet her eyes. His jaw was clenched as she looked at him desperate for him to say that Andy was lying.
But he never did and that moment, she didn't know how to feel let alone who to believe. But the guilt in his green eyes and the tension in his body said it all.
Betrayed couldn't even begin to cover how she felt. Her denial and sense of betrayal soon turned into sadness and quickly into anger. How could he? She trusted him, Alexei trusted him. They thought of him as family, treated him as much too.
The redhead shifted away from him reluctantly, pulling her hand away from his back along with its warmth and comfort. Parker flinched at the loss of contact and the look in her green orbs. It was like she was seeing him for the very first time and she didn't know who he was. It was the look everyone gave him, the look of judgement and accusation. And he was sick and tired of people misjudging him and treating him as if he was a monster.
But then again maybe he was. Maybe he was the bad guy in this story after all.
So he hid behind the facade he's known all too well, the facade he's built for himself after everyone leaving and abandoning him. And that smirk was slowly growing on his lips, choosing to give them the show they expected from him.
No matter what he did they always saw what they wanted to see.
"I have nothing to say-" he started.
"Of course, you don't, you're guilty and it's showing" Andy spat out.
"Parker...please" Ivana pleaded, ignoring her anger for one second.
"Maybe you should've never taken me in, Vani" he tilted his head, still wearing that smirk.
"I know you, why are you lying?" The blonde shook her head at him.
"Maybe you're just refusing to believe the truth"
He replied with a frown, for a second his smirk wiped away with her response. She was all the family he had left, atleast he considered her family whether she considered him the same or not. He'd forever be indebted to both her and Alexei and would never forget they were the ones that took him off the streets and offered a home.
How can someone ever betray that?
A part of him hoped she'd see through him, but the part that found it easier to push people away, hoped she'd believe Andy. He tried focusing on the blonde instead of the redhead. He knew what she thought of him since the beginning and to think that maybe she was starting to see him for who he really is, behind the facade and start to understand him must've been just his mind playing cruel tricks on him.
No one would ever understand.
"Leave"
Her demand rendered him speechless. There he stood expecting her to throw all her anger at him. Maybe even punch him or even yell at him. But she did neither, she merely stood there, looking as broken as the day she learned of Alexei's death. Her gaze diverted to the ground and he wasn't sure if she was disgusted to look at him or if it was because she was trying to fight back the tears.
