Struggling to hold back the grief, tears flow steadily, silently down immobile face, feel bruised inside, numbness, emptiness, walking behind mahogany coffin, saying goodbye although he is gone already, the soul unwilling to acknowledge the finality of death, never to look upon their face again or feel their embrace, see the warmth in their eyes, be surrounded by their love.

Words from the minister, speeches at the service bring a fresh onslaught of tears, well spoken words, a tribute to his life and the loved ones he's left behind. Everyone in black, white roses on the casket, watching the casket be lowered into the grave through tear-strained eyes. Goodbyes were silently sent out to the early lost boy.

.

Everything was over before she could even process it, it all just happened so quickly, like a nightmare that she'd wake up from eventually. But the torn looks on the hazel eyed boy's family's faces proved her wrong. Her friend was forever lost and she'd never be able to get him back again. But like everything that has to come to an end, the funeral was over and soon after people started to gradually leave.

The redhead is yet to realize that she's the only one left, she's so lost in her thoughts, she doesn't notice that Parker has stayed behind along with her. The thought of staying behind where their baby boy would lie six feet under ground, left a horrible taste at the pit of their stomach and so feeling broken-hearted, the hazel eyed boy's parents left. Heading back home to a still oblivious little daughter that's yet to learn the loss of her older brother.

Crouching before his grave, her hand lightly feather over his stone, barely even touching it in fear of reality finally settling in and completely shattering her. What were silent tears now morphs into heart wrenching sobs and those were the worst kind of crying. Where you're left begging for the pain to leave, but you're left too weak by the prospect of loss that something as simple as breathing felt like the most painful of things she ever had to endure.

"You can't be gone..."

Her voice comes out in a broken whisper, travelling away with the wind and away into the dark shadows of clouds. And a tear slips past her emerald green eyes down her cheek soon to mix with the rain crying along with her. She never thought she'd lose him, how could she when he's always been someone there by her side through her every step of the way.

And her pain mixed with so many emotions desperately escape her lips in the form of a loud cry. A cry so loud it could break through the sky, one to shatter the highest of mountains and tear through the person that took him away from this world. A cry so loud, the green eyed boy is forced to push his hands against his ears to block out the painful scream, bringing him to his knees as he feels as if his mind is about to explode. A crack travels down between the name engraved on the stone, almost tearing apart the whole stone if it wasn't for Parker falling next to the redhead and pulling her to him, an embrace tight enough to take away her pain.

And even though it didn't calm the storm of pain wrenching inside of her, at least it quietened her cries until all that could be heard were her shallow breathes and his labored ones from the pain her screams brought him.

"I'm here...I'm right here. Just please come back to me"

But despite the desperation that could be heard in his voice and felt in his tight hold on her hand, she's numb to the world along with his warm touch. And the lost look in her once wild brown eyes was driving him crazy. How could eyes that a reflection of fire could be seen through them, be so dimmed and cold now?

How could he have not saved her?
