It was like her subconscious  was leading her somewhere it knew, but it wasn't somewhere she could remember. Her feet moved quickly as it led her deeper into a forest.

Trees stood tall around her as her legs carried her deeper into the woods. In her state of anger, she didn't take notice of where she was heading to. But finally snapping out of her daze of anger, she started taking in her surroundings.

Her senses got heightened on hearing noises from a few feet away from her. Whirling around her gaze meets with those similar brown orbs as her own.

"Liz? " she breathes out.

"Hey there, little sister" a warm smile plays on the older sister's lips.

"What are you doing here?" The younger brunette frowns in confusion as she glances around the place.

"We need to talk" she takes a step forward and subconsciously Leona takes one back.

"About what?" Leona asks with a frown.

"About why you should join us"

.

"Look, Liz, whatever you're gonna say it's not gonna convince me to join your master" Leona shakes her head, already starting to turn around to leave.

"Atleast give me a chance here"

The pleading tone that laced her sister's voice was what brought her to a stop. But her back was still facing the older brunette as she waited for her to start talking again.

"How are you still alive?" Leona breathes out when the silence isn't broken.

"After that Andy killed me... this man showed up. He saved my life, said he gave me the cure to life. I didn't bother worrying about the potential consequences  back then of that cure. I was just grateful that I was still alive and got a second chance not to leave my younger sister all alone-"

"But you did anyways" Leona cut her off coldly.

And it was something the other sister could understand. She expected her to feel betrayed and hurt. But she just always kept telling herself that she didn't have any other choice back then.

"As a repayment for saving my life, I had to practically sell the life I was given away to literally the devil. His vision, I believe in it, just don't like the means he uses to get what he wants. Trust me, if I could tell you what his real motives are right now, I would-"

"Then what's stopping you?! "

Leona whirls around quickly, luckily not receiving a whiplash in the process.

"The only reason he can't hurt you is because of me. If I tell you, he won't even hurt me because he needs me...but he'll hurt you as a way of punishing me. Now do you understand why I feel it's safer for you to join us?"

Liz tilts her head slightly to the side, emotion flashing behind her orbs as she gazes sadly at her younger sister.

"Why does he need you?" Leona whispers with furrowed eyebrows.

"Because I'm the only one that can get him what he needs. I can't tell you much, but remember how I was studying to become a biomedical engineer? A bullet to the head and a magical cure and I'm suddenly now a super genius. You got ice, I got modified brain cells"

Liz rolls her eyes as she sarcastically says the last sentence.

But still the younger sister doesn't let her attempt at lightening up the air between them get to her or divert her from the important questions.
