"Andy, wait!"

Stomping outside the house behind him, her steps are quick so as not to lose him. But his steps don't falter, they're angry and quick. Like he had a purpose and that was to get as far away as possible. But she wouldn't let him and so on realising he was faster, she brought a hand up and threw an icicle his way. Hoping it wouldn't hurt him, and just merely catch his attention enough to bring him to a stop.

The icicle flies just merely an inch past his head, and she's glad her awful aim for once was on her side. Whipping around, she's met with narrowed green eyes. There was so much anger in them, but the sadness laced along was what threw her off guard. And without thinking too much into her actions, she's making her way closer to him. Her eyes never leaving his for a second.

"What she said...is it true?"

And his eyes and the emotions he tried but failed to hide were all the answer she really needed.

"Is it true that you're dying?"

She wasn't sure why she felt that feeling and was taken aback by the realisation that she felt an overwhelming amount of sadness at the thought of him dying...again. Because despite everything, he was still the same old Andy and only now was she seeing that. Through all the hate and evil, he managed to still hold onto a piece of the boy she was once head over heels for.

"You don't owe me anything, Ona, you don't need to feel sad. No one's going to miss me anyways" he shrugged, not being able to hold eye contact with her any longer and so diverted his gaze elsewhere.

"You don't deserve that, you don't deserve anything of what happened to you...I shouldn't have-"

"It wasn't your fault, it's about time you moved past the guilt, Ona"

Meeting her eyes again, he gives her a sad smile. He's always been able to easily read her eyes, no matter the time and the pain, he could still read them. And it's moments that pass by with them just standing there, staring into each other's eyes, looking for something that neither was sure what it was. They were like two ghosts to what they used to be. Same people, different hearts. They weren't the same. And as they stared at one another, they could almost remember how it used to feel.

They weren't who they used to be, not anymore, and that love would forever be tragically lost. Whatever they felt at the moment, it was more a sense of missing a feeling rather than actually having those feelings still. Because along with those feelings came a time when things were much simpler.

"How long?" She whispered, fearing the answer.

"Not long enough..."

She's at loss for words, tears already welling up in her eyes and that sadness her eyes has become so familiar with only increasing. He hated seeing that sadness in eyes that once used to be shining with happiness. It felt like a lifetime ago almost. And with the first tear that rolled down her cheek, his hand subconsciously finds it's way to her face. Wiping it away and when his eyes met hers again, he found it hard to breathe at the intensity of emotions in her eyes.

And maybe they were just two broken souls trying to remember what it was like all those years ago, trying to remember what it was like to have a heartbeat instead of the ghosts they've become. Because through everything they were two lovers that lost so much and never even got to say goodbye or understand the reason they were no longer to be.

There was a time when it was easy to picture a future together, one always with the other in it. But now, he was dying, he could feel it in his heart. And she feared she'd never be able to say all the things she wished to say back then. She still didn't, but hoped the kiss they shared that day would be enough. It was a kiss of ending a love that used to be. A chapter of their lives that has ended years ago, but were only now able to close it with their own will and no one else's.
