Walking down the hall, it's silent, no one in sight, which reminds her that she should be in class right now like the rest of the students. But the text she got, made her end up where she was right now.
It was a text sent from her boyfriend, he was asking to meet up outside. Now he knew how she didn't like missing class, she wasn't an A student, but that was why she needed to focus on her studies, she always struggled with school more than other students and so she had to work extra hard just to stay an average B student.
After her parents died in a car accident three years ago, her older sister became all she had left, she became her guardian. Their relatives didn't want any responsibility to do with them, they've never really seen eye to eye with the way their parents brought them up. And so growing up, they knew nothing really of their relatives. But they were good with that, because their parents were caring, loving and supportive and that was all they really could ever need.
So not wanting her little sister to go for social service seeing that was how it'd end up with their relatives turning their heads the other way, the older sister became her guardian. Working two part time jobs while studying, her older sister basically threw her chance at a normal life away for her younger sister. But if you'd ask her, she didn't regret it one bit.
The fact that she was now an orphan made her fall into depression and people whispering about her behind her back, the looks they gave her, they all just made her hate high school even more. But there was only one thing good there, the love of her life, she believed he was the one. Because in some way he has been her constant for so long now, he was something familiar to her. And with everything going on in her life, she valued familiarity.
She slows down on hearing noises coming from behind a closed door. She frowns and shakes her head, thinking of how gross teenagers are these days. She was about to just turn back to class, seeing that she couldn't find her boyfriend, but the familiar voice stops her. Frozen to her spot, she refuses to move, but that was because she couldn't bring herself to.
Stumbling out the door, a girl with ginger hair smirks at her, wiping away at her lipstick that was now smeared messily. And then what was left of her heart completely shattered when he walks out, running a hand through his hair in an attempt of taming it. Stopping dead in his track on seeing her, the next thing she knows is her walking down the hall with tears blurring her vision, her pace soon turning into a full on sprint as she pushes past the school's front doors.
