He was that person she never thought she'd meet.

And also the person she never thought she'd ever lose.

All her life she felt lonely, but never as lonely as she felt in that one moment her whole life fell apart while she sat there, unable to do anything with a blank face.

She was lost in her darkness again, stuck in a place that she feared the most. And that was her own head. Because when you lose someone you cared about, the whole world starts to look like your enemy.

She couldn't help but believe that when he died, all things soft, beautiful and bright was buried with him.

It was at that moment of her darkness, that she realised something. He was the only light shining in her darkness, the only hope she had to conquer her fears and slay her demons. And gradually but surely he started becoming something more to her. It was when he let out his last breath that she realised just how much she really cared about him. And it hurt that it took him taking his last breath for her to come to terms with that.

He was everything she wished she could have. But everything she could never have.

Because like every other light in her life, it was turned off and cruely taken away from her.

She remembers that first day they met, how his smile was easy as he threw jokes on her. It took them a minute to meet. And despite facing her darkness, he didn't cower away and leave, instead he held hope for her. And it took her special moments to appreciate him. It took her one second to love him and less to lose him. And probably an entire lifetime to get over him.

But she knew his memory will forever be etched in her head. Like a whisper in the darkness that could never fade away.

Sitting on the ground of a cell, the chains encircling  her wrists doesn't even pain her as she stares blankly ahead. She was still motionless, because when the pain starts becoming too much, you lose sense of everything.

In her head, she was lost in darkness. Tall trees shoot up, almost reaching the sky, no ray of sunlight could get past them. Dead leaves covered the ground beneath her as she helplessly looked around. She was afraid and not having an idea as to where she was.

It was cold as she frantically tried to find an exit. But it was like running in endless circles, there was no way out for her, just like there was no light left to guide her through the darkness.

She was stuck for who knew how long in her head, with nothing but fear and darkness as her only company. And the sound of his last breath as a ghostly echo in the background on repeat, like cold wind swiping away her hair mockingly.

Falling to the ground, she could feel the trees morphing into monsters. They were reaching for her with claws, they were the demons inside her head. The ones she could never escape. Her hands tugged at her hair in desperation as a scream rattles from her body and shoots up through the dark sky.

All she wanted was to hear his voice.

Hear it guide her back home.

But no matter how many times she cried out, begging him to come back, he never did.

Making his way to where he last left her, he's left more anxious on not finding neither the brunette nor the hazel eyed boy. Kneeling down on something catching his attention. He picks up the white piece of paper he never noticed before.
