Chapter 9:Blood

"Finally someone watches GoT in the school magazine!" Ava said as she hugged me "I only watched season 1 and a little bit of season 2" I said "Take a seat my queen" Lee said and I took a seat beside Ava "So we are here currently to introduce the new members and tell you guys the plan for the school magazine releasing this year" Zachery said "Let's get started.The new members are Lee the guy who was kind enough to let use his house for our meeting say hi" he said and Lee waved his hand and said "Hi" and the other members also said hi "Our other new member is Xandra" he said "Herro" I said "I mean hello!" I said correcting my self and getting embarrassed "Great job" Ava said sarcastically "Damnit!" I said quietly "So our plans right now are blurry as we have nothing for our school magazine but that's the point of this meeting.All of the writers I assigned to write the piece can I get your paper now?" he said and six people stood up including me and Lee and we handed our paper to Zachery "I'll be proofreading this with our proofreader Tristan" he said keeping the paper in his backpack "The people I assigned to draw stuff for the school magazine I'll get your drawings at school tomorrow as I know some of you guys are perfectionist" he said "And the photographers tomorrow you guys will be assigned to take photos for the event which is the English festival" he said "Sir yes sir!" Ava said saluting at Zachery "Ha ha" he said faking a laugh "Anyways we party to welcome the new members of the school magazine!" he said giving all of us cups and raised it up proposing a toast "To Xandra and Lee!" everyone said before we did the toast and food was given by Lee and while everyone one was eating I saw him look outside "Whatcha looking at?" I said drinking my drink "That" he said pointing at the sun going down and even before I could say anything I was already outside holding Lee's arm "Woah" I said letting go of his hand as I watched the birds land on electric wires and watched the sunset with us "I guess they are interested by it too" he said and suddenly I felt like we were a scene from a movie and the boy is supposed to grab the girl's hand and they kiss the day away but nothing happens we're still silent until I bring up the conversation we had at the first day of our grade "Still not able to talk like friends" I said and I didn't get a reaction at all almost as if seems like the Lee that I talked to this morning disappeared "You good?" I said and I saw his arm bleeding "Lee?" I said as he started losing his balance "Lee!" I caught him as he was about to fall and called for help "Guys!" I said getting their attention and they rushed outside and carried Lee into a car and Ava drove him to the hospital while we followed behind her in Zachery's car "What happened?" Zachery said while we were in the car "I don't know" I said and we reached the hospital after a few minutes and the simple bleeding has gone full on life or death situation and he had to be rushed to the ER "We will update you on the patient's situation" the nurse said closing the door and we just all sat on the chairs waiting for the news.A few minutes or so the lady came back and she gave us the current status of Lee "He needs to undergo surgery as a glass fragment was found in his blood stream and if that reaches the heart then he will die" she said "When are you guys starting?" I said "We've already started and their about to get the glass out of his system and he'll be safe.Are you his friends and family?" she said "Only friends" I said "His family?" she said "His mother is dead while his father is not here" I said "Do you have an idea how this could've happen?" she said "Maybe his father" Ava said "Could be" I said and before the nurse went back in I grabbed her hand and said "Don't let him die please" and she nodded and went inside "Don't die Lee".

10 Minutes Later
The doctor came out with the nurse and we got up to listen to the situation of Lee "Patient is safe the glass was successfully removed and his recovery should be within 2 to 6 days" he said "Thank you Doc!" I said before he left "What a day eh?" Ava said "Yup" I said "Who did this to him?" I said "His father?" Ava said "Would his dad be able to do that?" I said "I mean his dad is a drunk man everyday" she said "What?!" I said "You don't know? I guess he never told you" she said "His dad has been drinking ever since his mother died and his dad has been blaming him for it ever since and I guess his father took than anger out in a way than made Lee almost die" she explained the situation of Lee and his father "No way your joking right?" I said "It's true" she said "That bastard!" I said "Can't he tell the cops or some authorities?" I said "He can't.He is just waiting for his father for change" she said "If he keeps waiting he might die!" I said "Then once we're able to visit him ask him if we can tell the authorities about what is father did" she said "Anyways we're gonna pay for the hospital fee right?" I said "Joint effort from the other members" she said "Exactly" Zachery said "Guys" Ava said as she looked inside "He's awake".
