Chapter 17:Sick

"And here they are" Zachery said welcoming us "So I'll get straight to the point.Xandra you'll be partnered up with Lee and the radio station will start a tadbit sooner that we expected.The principal said we need to start it by tomorrow" he said "Tomorrow eh?" I said "So you ready Lee?" he said "More or less" I said "Is that what you called us here for to just announce the partner?" Xandra said "And to test your speaking" he said "Umm what?" I said "I begged the principal to start it today and he agreed" he said "I hate you so much Zachery" I said "Anyways go to the station and get ready" he said and Xandra and I went outside the library and started walking to the nearest staircase "Umm.." Xandra said "Yeah?" I said "How is this gonna play out?" she said as she stopped going downstairs and faced me to talk "Well...I'm not sure" I said "Let's agree to not be awkward when doing this radio thing" she said bringing out her pinky "Uhh.." I said having no idea what to do "Its a pinky promise you don't know that?" she said "No I..Fine" I said as I did the pinky promise with her and she ran down the stairs as she saw Zachery already downstairs "Careful" I said "I'm not gonna fall" she said as she reached the bottom floor "But you might" I said "Tsk" she said running ahead to the radio station as I followed behind her looking at the decorations for the upcoming reunion of the second college graduates from our school."Damn!" I heard as I bumped into someone "Sorry" I said helping her get the things on the ground "Ah Lee you met new vice principal Jinx" Zachery said "Oh Im so sorry ma'am" I said apologizing "Great job" Xandra said "It's ok.I'm guessing you're going to be the radio dj's for the station?" Jinx said "Yeah" I said "Well better get started as I'm taking notes" she said and Xandra,Zachery and I entered the station.

The Station
"So this thing will mute and unmute your mics and this is where you will adjust the volume of the music and your mic and this is of course the computer where you will play music obviously right after the announcement if there is and do you get the gist of it?" Zachery said "Yeah but isn't this a big room for a simple radio?" Xandra said "It might be but it's enough for you guys and remember when you're going to be talking to each other and you don't want the whole school knowing just mute your mic" he said "Aight thank you Zachery" I said "Good luck and the radio will begin in five minutes" he said leaving the room "So.." I said sitting on the left seat "Let's not be awkward" she said as she rose her hand "Yeah" I said as I did a fist bump with her and we adjusted the volume placed on the headsets and unmuted our mics."Morning fellow students starting today the radio station is officially on and you're able to request us songs if you wish by using the schools website which is to launch tomorrow" I said reading the script left on the table "You know that sounds a bit to formal" Xandra said "Really?How would you do it?" I said playing along "Good morning to everyone in this not so lovely day as we all know Science and Math the hardest subjects are the first exams for the first day!" she said like she actually meant it "I mean Math isn't really that har-" I was cut off when she started speaking "Oh yeah whats x + y?" she said asking me the same question our science teacher gave me "Umm" I said speechless "See admit it it's hard" she said "Fine it's hard" I said "Anyways we aren't going to play music for the next two days as of course its exam and we don't wanna interrupt you so yeah" Xandra said and suddenly someone knocked on the door and I muted my mic and whispered something to Xandra "You talk for now I'll get the door" I said as I opened the door and it was Zachery "It's going well so far and half the school is requesting a song" he said "What?" I said and Zachery whispered it into my ear "Aight" I said closing the door "What did he say?" Xandra said after she muted her mic "Play a song" I said sitting down and placing on the headphones "What song?" she said "Perfect" I said and she had the folder with the songs in and we both unmuted our mics "So change of plans.Apparently half of you guys are wanting a song so here we go" I said before Xandra played the song and I adjusted the volume "Have fun guys" I said unmuting my mic and removing the headphones and so did Xandra "Where you goin?" she said "Canteen you want something?" I said "Yeah tell her the usual and here's my payment" she said giving me her money and I left the room going to the canteen.
