Chapter 16:Past Comes Back

I opened the paper filling me with memories before Xandra and I met "Hope you can learn from that" she said and she walked inside "Yeah I'll learn from this" I said folding the paper and placing it in my pocket and went inside "So I'm your proctor.You can call me Jennifer Recia." she said sitting down "Ok I'll give you this time to study before I give out the test papers and the bell rings" she said fixing the papers stapling them "When did I even write this?" I thought to myself as I read the paper "Why did I even write this?" I thought to myself "What's that?" Xandra said looking at me "Huh it's nothing" I said trying to hide it but she took it "Xandra!" I said as she too it "Is this a poem?" she said holding it where I can't reach "Come on!" I said trying to reach for it but failing "It's also in another language eh" she said "I give up" I said sitting down "So is this a poem?" she said "It is but I don't know what it is for though as I wrote it a few years ago" I said "Hmm..." she said looking at the words and bringing out her phone "If you're gonna search it I doubt a poem from a kid is gonna get on the internet" I said "Why not try ya know?" she said "I guess you do have a point..." I said and after a few minutes she got a result "A play made a critic shook on how good the poem was" she said showing me the result "The critic says he loves the part where the lead woman said some thing the critic related to" she said "We might be apart,but our hearts,are still beating for each other" I said reading the line the critic loved "And the girl looks like our proctor" she said "So Jen basically acted in a play...and she used my poem.Did she even thank me?" I said "Well she did" Xandra said showing me the paper's backside "01/06/2013 Thank you Lee!" I said reading it "I guess I didn't notice that today" I said "Yeah.." she said "Soooo" she said "Jesus if there was a test for not being awkward I think we would fail" I said "We are really bad at doing what humans do with their friends" she said "Who knew talking could be hard" I said "Does your neck hurt at all?" I said "Well it kinda 'cause I've been looking at my back for most of this morning to talk to you" she said "Well.." I said getting up and sitting on the chair on her side "So when is Zachery gonna start the voting?" she said "He already did the voting without us knowing" I said "Wonder who it would be" she said and the bell rang "Guess that ends our conversation" I said "Good luck" she said "Good luck to you too" I said "You're allowed to listen to music while doing the exam if you wish to" Jen said handing the papers to the people in front and they took one and passed the rest to the people behind them and that repeated until the papers were all given to every student."Aight lets see what this is about" I thought to myself after writing my name and looking at test 1 "Easy enough" I said as I encircled the right answers "Test two" I said flipping the page "Enumeration son of a and its the periodic table too" I thought to myself as I started tapping my desk furiously when I'm stressed "Recall it me recall it.....ok ok ok I got it I got it" I thought to myself as I started writing what I remembered from this morning where I asked Xandra about the table "Next one..true or false?Easy enough I guess" I thought to myself writing down the answers I think were correct.I finished the science test with ease but I felt something in my gut telling me math will ruin this day for me.30 minutes has passed and we will pass our papers after 5 minutes "Guess Ill just listen to music" I thought to myself as I took out my phone and headphones and listened to a playlist of mine.I closed my eyes to just get a little rest before the next exam starts.Once I closed my eyes thoughts started running through my head "If that person becomes my partner this will just make everything awkward or make us become more and more not bad at talking to each other"  "Shit this is gonna be hard to do.I have to talk to the whole school and do it with her too".After a my thoughts have died down and I eventually fell asleep.

POV Switch:Xandra
"Lee your pa-" I cut myself off when I saw him sleeping with his headphones on "Just get the paper quietly and don't wake him up" I thought to myself as I took his paper not making any noise and passed it forward "Ok so just some announcements for the next quarter" Jennifer said "I will be your teacher for next quarter on your English subject and I don't really like being called Jennifer so just call me Jen" she said "So any questions before I leave and hand these papers over to your teacher" she said and a student rose their hand "Umm ma'am how about Zachery and the other school magazine members that aren't here?" Eli said "They already took in it advance as they needed to do the radio station for next quarter" Jen said "Ah ok" Eli said before she sat down and the bell rang telling us its our break "Ill go hand the papers now" Jen said leaving and Ava entered the room "Xandra and Lee come on!" she said calling us "Wait" I said as I got up and shook Lee to wake him up "Yeah?" he said as he slowly opened his eyes "Come on Ava is calling us" I said and Lee followed me outside "Go to the library Ill just get the lunch for the others" Ava said as Lee and I went to the library.
